If you want to learn how to safely source, harvest, and use native, local wildflower seed, this is for you.
August's seeds feed next year's bees!

👉 Please R/T this advice to counteract all the well meaning posts asking you to leave out pumpkins for wildlife. Keep them high to ensure hedgehogs don't have access. 🦔 🎃 ❌

We’re publishing a book 18/9: “The Native Irish Honey Bee, Apis mellifera mellifera.”
Its aim: increase awareness of the #nativeirishhoneybee & its role as pollinator & honey producer + the need for conservation.

We ❤️ Irish 🍯! This label on a jar means that it was produced by an active NIHBS member, that the honey came from their own bees, that they are native Irish dark bees, and that that honey 100% comes from Ireland. Support local beekeepers!

One of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to help the bees is to simply reduce mowing and allow wildflowers to grow (no new seeds required) #NoMowMay 🐝🐝🐝

All this wax comb has been built by worker honey bees.
They do all the work. They don’t have fingers or hands so can’t carry things like we do.
But they do cleaning, collecting and preparing food, feeding young, building the home with wax, taking out rubbish, stopping intruders.

How many Meath people does it take to change a light bulb?
None, we just align the Sun & the Earth.
5,000 years old & the roof in Newgrange has never leaked water!! You can't bate Meath roofers, hey.
The Irish for Solstice is Grianstad, Translated directly it means Sun Stop.
