"Yuga Labs: Shaping the Future of Web3 with a Revolutionary Metaverse". 🧵thread A incredible journey of the team behind Bored Ape Yacht Club and the #Yugaverse 1/. Founded by four friends with a simple text message – "Let's make a NFT" – Yuga Labs rapidly evolved into a force to be reckoned with in the world of Web3 and NFTs. Their flagship collection? None other than the iconic Bored Ape Yacht Club. 2/. Launching in April 2021, BAYC minted 10,000 Bored Apes at roughly $200 each. The collection sold out on May 1st, 2021, and an incredible community began to form almost immediately, solidifying its place in NFT history. 3/. The community continued to grow with the addition of 10,000 dog companions (Bored Ape Kennel Club) and 20,000 Mutant Apes (Mutant Ape Yacht Club), expanding the Yugaverse and creating an even more vibrant ecosystem. 4/. 2022 saw rapid growth for Yuga Labs. The Yugaverse expanded beyond BAYC with the announcement of Otherside, a gamified metaverse. CryptoPunks, Meebits, and 10KTF also joined, bringing new IP, reach, and community to Yuga. 5/. Throughout this journey, Yuga prioritized Web3 values of decentralization and ownership. They've been pioneers in hosting exclusive festivals, events, merch drops, and collaborations accessible to NFT holders. 6/. Yuga made history by decentralizing the IP rights of Bored Apes, Punks, and Meebits, granting holders rights to the underlying art. This move empowered the community to create their own brands and communities, leveraging the utility of their NFTs. 7/. Today, BAYC stands as the world's most recognizable NFT collection, and Yuga Labs has become the fastest-growing startup in WEB3. 8/. The future is bright with Otherside – the first metaverse that includes the community in the development process. Otherside invites everyone to play and create, emphasizing interoperability and access. 9/. Yuga Labs believes that the potential of web3 can be realized when we start with imagination, not limitations. 10/. "The story of Yuga is a testament to the power of community, innovation, and staying true to the core values of decentralization and ownership". Did you enjoy this Tweet?
