Legendary engineer Dan Gelbart on patents
90% of patents are unenforceable due to uncited prior art. LLM search can significantly improve the situation with much more thorough prior art searches. Also useful for anyone defending against a patent claim.

Parag Agrawal (@paraga) on how he dealt with pressure during @elonmusk’s takeover of Twitter:
“Through the Twitter acquisition, I used to track my sleep score. And I was sleeping fine.”
“If you know what you must do, you do it. You don't have to feel pressure.”
“The world can come at you, but if you know what you're capable of & you have a slightly long-term view.. you don't have to feel pressure. You have to perform every day, which is a completely different thing.”
Elon is worried about a Starlink Kessler cascade but the Starshield sats are only 50-100km higher ... so if Russia took some of those out you could still cause a disaster with Starlinks. Starshield doesn't have nearly as many sats though so it's more likely to survive.
Replying to @FilmLadd
This is indeed one of the main reasons that Starlink must remain a civilian operation.
It can be used for infrastructure that is military, but it cannot be used for unequivocally offensive strikes that make it fair game to be struck back.
An adversary blowing up Starlink satellites would create a domino effect of destruction that would generate a vast field of debris making space unusable.
Long term, Starlink could end up operating around 300-330km. This is very low and any sat that fails would deorbit in weeks or a few months at most. They'd have to load them with a lot of propellant to just keep them up and the usable life might be 4-5 years.
If you then use a 600km orbit for Starshield, with a sparse constellation of maybe 500 sats, then you can be fairly sure that Starshield will survive a catastrophic Kessler cascade with Starlink.
This is because any debris from the 300km Starlink orbit that gets kicked up to 600km will have a perigee below the earth's surface and therefore will not go around more than once.
Then all you gotta do is wait 3 months and you can start launching 10s of thousands of starlink sats into orbit again 😅
This story is getting interesting: alledgedly Ukraine hacked commercial Starlink terminals to bypass the 160km/h limit, SpaceX found out about it, and fixed the weakness by estimating the actual ground speed from how often it sat-hopped...

I've wanted to make this game for almost a decade. After years of building it, breaking it, losing it, redoing it several times, and even abandoning it entirely, the free demo is out on Steam. Very cool!
You're an armored bulldozer against a whole town who is out to get you, from the local police to the National Guard. Lots of destruction and explosions.
It would mean the world to me if you tried it. Thanks!
uh so whats the actual success rate on the free pizza?
looks like a coinflip to me based on the comments
