Long before it turned genocide denier, the @BBC produced a documentary that exposed three truths: One: The genocide against the Tutsi was planned. Two: The plan was known to the US State Department months before hell was unleashed on Rwanda’s Tutsi. Three: The attack on the plane was nothing but a pretext to unleash genocidal violence. "Rwanda, That Local Thing" is just one episode among eight in a series called Corridors of Power: Should the US Police the World? Here is what British investigative journalist @lindamelvern writes in her recent article, "A preventable genocide, a denied responsibility: What 'Corridors of Power' reveals about Rwanda": "Anyone who had bothered to examine the cables from Kigali, carefully filed in the State Department’s Africa Bureau, would have found the outline of a planned, political campaign to exterminate the Tutsi." Read more: newtimes.co.rw/article/34670… Let that sink in. They knew. The documentary goes further, revealing that the extermination plan was personally disclosed to General Roméo Dallaire, commander of UNAMIR, back in January 1994… by a regime insider. Here was the plan, in cold blood: -Kill Belgian peacekeepers to drive the UN mission out. - Then kill all Tutsi. Lists of Tutsi were drawn up. Weapons stockpiled. Tens of thousands of Interahamwe militias trained and mobilized. The media, the RTLM, would do the rest, whipping the masses into a killing frenzy. Three months before the genocide, three months before the plane was struck, the plan was already laid out, ready to be executed. The attack on the plane, launched from the Kanombe military barracks, controlled by the genocidal army, was never the cause. It was the excuse. The signal to begin the slaughter. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a genocide denier. Plain and simple. 🎯Did you know? Western intelligence agencies quickly identified Hutu extremists as the perpetrators of the 1994 plane attack, which served as both the pretext and the signal for the mass killings of Tutsi to begin. Within hours of the April 6, 1994 downing of President Juvénal Habyarimana’s plane, multiple Western intelligence services, including those of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Belgium, converged on a stark, unmistakable conclusion: The attack had originated from within the Hutu extremist power structure itself! Belgian military intelligence (SGR), deeply embedded in Rwanda through its UN peacekeeping role, produced a damning analysis as early as April 22, 1994. It stated unequivocally that “everything now suggests” the perpetrators belonged to the “hardline faction of the Ba-Hutu within the Rwandan army.” The speed and organization of the ensuing killings, the analysis stressed, proved premeditation. In #Mozambique, The mercenaries failed. The colonial armies failed. The UN would have failed too, just as it did in Congo. But the African people's army succeeded. That's the army sanctioned by the US. Over 700,000 have returned to their homes after the Rwandan army restored security. The only reason this mission, this cooperation between sister countries, is not actively sabotaged is because it also protects Western multi-billion gas projects. The Western media will not tell you this story. We must tell it. Want to see what a people's army is? The army that President Kagame envisioned and built? Watch this video of Rwandan soldiers in #Mozambique. Wherever they appear, the people come to them, proud to show the result of a day's labor, fishing in this case. They feel safe. They are smiling. A few years ago, this beach in Palma, Cabo Delgado, was empty. Close to a million people had fled the jihadists. Today, hundreds of thousands have returned under the protection of the people's army. It is worth recalling that “Kagame's vision runs counter to the traditional view of security forces as detached institutions that remain confined to barracks and offices until called upon to fight an external enemy or, worse, used as a blunt instrument of domestic coercion. Rwanda, under his leadership, has spent the last three decades rewriting the role of security institutions. Army members are never seen as a repressive tool of the state, but rather as a trusted friend in times of need. It is no surprise, then, that independent statistics consistently rank the security forces among the most trusted institutions in the country. By maintaining an unbreakable bond with the population, the RDF ensures that subversive elements find no fertile ground within Rwanda's borders or in its areas of operation. Ultimately, the RDF has proven that a modern military's greatest weapon is not its arsenal, but its alignment with the hearts and minds of the people. It stands as a powerful reminder that when an army belongs to the people, peace is not just maintained, it is sustained.” Read this good article on the topic: From the RPA to RDF: the Evolution of a People's Army. ktpress.rw/2026/07/from-the-…

@ruhumuza @AAwithJGS

We really need to be asking these questions: What is MONUSCO good for? How can a UN mission exist for decades without achieving anything good for the people of Congo, and the contributors seem unbothered? What agenda does it serve?
“MONUSCO’s partnership with the FARDC, in the face of documented state collaboration with the FDLR, Nyatura, & Wazalendo, constituted a continuous breach of the Human Rights Due Diligence Policy set forth in document A/67/775-S/2013/110.” panafricanreview.com/the-cas…

This is how you know the coordination and smear campaign against Rwanda is still alive and well. APR was benched and replaced by RSSB Tigers. And, by the way, RSSB Tigers went on to win the BAL. Let’s not forget that APR BBC remains one of the strongest and most competitive basketball teams in the region. The question is: why the narrative, and what exactly is the agenda?

This is the so-called opposition that Western democracy activists say we should turn to and bring to power. They hate Rwanda's success so much that they want us to fall in line, know our place, and become a dysfunctional country like the ones they're used to preying on.
Kagame’s Budget Is So Tight After America and Britain Cut Him Off That He Had to Wear a Dress to Meet King Charles Fellow Rwandans, the situation is desperate. Our beloved President Paul Kagame has been reduced to wearing what can only be described as a dress while standing next to King Charles and other Commonwealth leaders. This is what happens when the Americans and the British finally stop writing blank cheques. I am personally contributing $2,000 — enough for one decent Italian suit and a pair of matching shoes — so our Head of State can stop embarrassing the nation on the world stage. Please dig deep. Our leader is walking around looking like he lost a bet with the palace tailor. Give generously. Dignity is expensive. rwandanationalcongress-rnc.o…

Somebody, save the Banyamulenge! I don't believe that the humanitarian agencies and international media organisations are silent because they fear that raising the issue could result in their expulsion from the DRC. I believe they're silent because they've sided with that genocidal regime in Kinshasa.
#DRC - The Plight of the Banyamulenge in the High Plateaux of South Kivu Has Reached a Critical Juncture. Their situation is absent from humanitarian reporting and international media coverage, partly because humanitarian agencies and international media organisations fear that raising the issue could result in their expulsion from the DRC. The Banyamulenge continue to endure a siege and unprecedented targeted and violent attacks aimed at uprooting them from their ancestral homeland. The siege continues to been carried out by a coalition of local armed groups known as the Wazalendo and foreign armed groups, including the FDLR, whose members include perpetrators of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, with the support of the armed forces of the DRC and Burundi. Drones attacks on the local civilians It is now 17 months since the DRC government began launching systematic drone attacks on this community, creating an environment of constant fear and insecurity. Civilians are being targeted without warning, even in areas where they seek refuge or carry out their ordinary daily activities. Women, children, elderly people, and other vulnerable groups are particularly affected. Who are the Banyamulenge people and what motivates their attackers The Banyamulenge are a Christian Tutsi minority group that has historically faced persecution because of their language, which is associated with Rwanda, their Tutsi physical features, and their cultural and traditional way of life. Their citizenship and belonging to the DRC have repeatedly been questioned. Those attacking them portray their armed activities as efforts to drive out what they describe as a foreign occupying population, infiltrators, or agents of the alleged balkanisation of the DRC. Livelihoods as a target Historically, the Banyamulenge have been largely self-sustaining through cattle breeding, farming, and strong systems of community solidarity. However, the attacks, systematic looting of livestock (over 700,000 head of cattle), and mass displacement have pushed the community into extreme precarity. This is particularly alarming given the remoteness of the affected areas and the limited humanitarian assistance available to the displaced population. The situation in Minembwe is currently alarming The humanitarian and security situation in Minembwe has deteriorated considerably, with the civilian population facing severe restrictions on access to essential services, food supplies, healthcare, and communication networks. 1. Destruction of settlements and mass displacement: more than 85% of Banyamulenge settlements have been destroyed. Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to live in conditions resembling those in concentration camps in and around Minembwe, while others have fled into exile across the region, including to Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya. 2. Since 2017, approximately 10,000 people have been killed. 3. Escalating cost of living: Food and other essential commodities have increased in price by approximately 205%, placing an enormous burden on an already vulnerable population. 4. Maternal mortality and healthcare crisis: Women continue to die during childbirth because medical facilities have been affected by bombardments, severely restricting access to essential maternal healthcare. 5. Two-year blockade and communication blackout: The civilian population has endured two years of a total blockade. Communities have been cut off from telephone networks, isolating villages and preventing the transmission of emergency alerts and other vital information. 6. Frequent armed attacks: Local communities experience at least five attacks per week, involving heavy artillery, including 120 mm mortars, kamikaze drones and, in recent weeks, CH-10-type drones. 7. Destruction of livelihoods and risk of famine: Livestock and agricultural activities are being targeted, further undermining the community's capacity to sustain itself and raising serious concerns about the deliberate imposition of famine on the Banyamulenge population. 8. Disruption of food supply routes: All major food supply routes have been cut off, affecting the Middle Plateaux of Fizi, the Lulenge sector to the west, the Itombwe Health Zone, and the High Plateaux of Uvira to the south. 9. Destruction of essential infrastructure: According to credible sources, 134 schools have been destroyed, 45 health facilities have been affected, and 25 markets have been forced to close. 10. Civilian casualties: Thousands of civilians, including children, women, and elderly people, have reportedly been killed, according to local authorities, civil society organisations, and traditional leaders. Conclusion The situation in Minembwe and the High Plateaux of South Kivu is alarming and unreported. Prolonged insecurity, forced displacement, the destruction of livelihoods, restricted humanitarian access, and recurrent attacks, including the use of armed drones against civilian areas, threaten the community's survival and future. The involvement of the armed forces of both Burundi and the DRC, as well as the use of military capabilities against civilian populations, raise serious questions about the responsibility of these states and potential violations of international humanitarian and human rights law. The continued marginalisation of the Banyamulenge raises serious questions about the effectiveness of international mechanisms for preventing mass atrocities and protecting vulnerable minorities.

The legitimacy of political criticism lies in the strength of its substance, not the severity of its insults. Kagame’s leadership, like any other, deserves scrutiny on governance, human rights and accountability. Physical appearance is neither evidence of political failure nor a measure of leadership.

Long after he’s gone, people will look back and realize he wasn’t just a great leader for Rwanda—he was one of Africa’s truest Pan-Africans. ✊🏽🌍
At this point, getting US sanctions is basically a moral endorsement. The empire’s enemies list is starting to look like the good-guy roster. What a timeline.

President Kagame when US removed Rwanda from AGOA. This is leadership!
The US to exclude Rwanda from AGOA once again. In 2018, the US suspended Rwanda’s preferential trade benefits under AGOA. Why? Because Rwanda stood up for its local textile industry and challenged the importation of second-hand clothes from the US. Rwanda called on fellow East African countries to reduce their reliance on imported second-hand clothing and focus instead on building local manufacturing capacity, creating jobs, and strengthening domestic industries. The US opposed this policy and pressured Rwanda to reverse its position. While other EAC countries bowed to US pressure, Rwanda maintained its stance, arguing that Africa needed to build its own industrial capacity rather than remain dependent on imported used clothing. The consequence was the suspension of Rwanda’s AGOA benefits in 2018. Now, years later, Washington is once again moving toward excluding Rwanda, alongside South Africa, from AGOA. My question: Is AGOA being used purely as a trade development programme, or is access to it increasingly influenced by political and diplomatic considerations?
