Born in 1884 in Patna, Mirza Wajid Hussain—remembered today as Yagana Changezi—is one of the most inspiring pre-modern poets who laid foundations for the modern ghazal. When he moved to Lucknow, he found a local poetry scene stuck repeating old styles. Instead of following the crowd, Yagana wrote with a bold, clear voice and openly questioned the city's intense obsession with Mirza Ghalib. Readers loved his fresh approach, but established local writers strongly disliked an outsider succeeding in their city. Years later, his rivals used his outspoken verses as an excuse to publicly humiliate him in the streets. He passed away in 1956 surrounded by hostility, but his poetry collections like 'Aayat-e-Wijdani' survived the hate and changed the course of Urdu literature forever.

Now a concrete jungle of flats & wires
And no, he wasn't brought up in his Nana's house. His mother Azizunnisa Begum had her own house, near her father's and Sir Syed Ahmad Khan ''s father shifted into it after their marriage.
Most of her siblings lived near and around the area.
The Nana's house is now a school.

Umar Khalid's prison notes after 6 years of captivity. It's a shame that such a bright scholar is in jail for 6 yrs without trial.
A protest that wraps itself in the national anthem and constitutional language while ignoring the people the state is killing cannot claim to speak for everyone's aspirations. The national unity you invoke is the reason people are being killed in so-called 'conflict zones.

I wonder when @DelhiPolice will be independent and obey the Constitution?
We are citizens not subjects. Our rights are not mortgaged to you that you can announce that our freedoms stand suspended on Gandhi Jayanti!
We don’t need police permission to hold peaceful protests to save democracy.
Delhi police you have been informed about the protests at Jantar Mantar.
Delhi Police stop behaving like a colonial force and implementing illegal orders of your political masters.
And of course let’s all including @DelhiPolice follow the teachings of Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti.
Section 163 BNSS is in force in New Delhi District. Please read the notice, for better understanding.
