🌍 On the occasion of @UNESCO International Day of #IntangibleCulturalHeritage, we celebrate the traditions, knowledge, and expressions that preserve the identity of peoples and enrich dialogue among cultures.
🇮🇹 Italy has 21 entries on #UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists out of the 849 recognized worldwide. From Sardinian tenor singing to the Sicilian "Opera dei Pupi", from the art of the neapolitan pizza maker to transhumance, to opera singing and, starting in 2025 also Italian cuisine, recognized for its connection to sustainability and biocultural diversity.
🤝 Protecting this heritage means supporting the communities that keep it alive and passing on its knowledge, so we can preserve our roots and look toward the future.

📝 Elementary school teacher Michele Cortese is about to start a whole new life. After 40 years teaching in the metropolitan Roman jungle, he’s now moving to a small town in Central Italy, to teach in a single-class school of children aged 7-10. He finds a friendly face in vice-principal Agnese, and with her help and that of the students, he gradually manages to overcome his urban inadequacy and to fit in. When everything seems to be falling into place, the unwelcome news arrives that the school has failed to meet its student quota for the next year and will close forever in the summer. A race against time starts to avoid the shutdown, whatever this may take.
The film won four awards including two Silver Ribbons for Best Comedy and Best Actress in a Comedy at the 2024 Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists. The film was nominated for two more awards in Italy.
