Since so many AMD fanbois liked my last post so much, I decide to show them even more fun times. 7 games bench with X3D & i9 both very highly tuned, courtesy of @yzonker BF6, Borderlands 4, Stalker 2, SotTR, SW Jedi Survivor, SH2, The Witcher 3. Look at the 0.1% and 1% Lows.

Specs: i9 is on custom water loop, cores at 61/47/52, DDR5 8200C34, Win10 slimmed down. X3D also on custom loop because it was holding the cores on some games at 5.7, DDR5 8000C34/2000 with 104.5 eclk, Win11 25H2 slimmed down. Tests were done in gameplay in CPU bound scenes.

How good is a 9800X3D at shader precompilation? As good as half a 14900K! My undervolted (not OC-ed) 14900K with only e-cores enabled took roughly the same time as a full 9800X3D chip did. This is a PS5 emulator running shader precompilation for Demon's Souls remake on PC.

Lets see how many have reading comprehension issues: The point of this is to show that X3D is not the best CPU for gaming, winning in everything. X3D wins in other games, yes, but it also loses in some as shown above. It's not a landslide win as AMDunboxed and others lie about.

I'm pretty sure a golden bin OC-ed 14900K running only e-cores smokes a 9800X3D in shader precompilation. Right @facegamefps ? Not to mention a 270K, that's even better at this. 9800X3D is an overpriced overhyped 8 core CPU. The only worthy X3D CPU this gen is 9950X3D.

Everyone using MSI Af is being mislead by that program including Hardware Accent that made that video. MSI Af is just not reporting correctly & accurately. I've been saying this for years on my X with tests proving how bad it is vs CapFrameX. Here, MSI Af at top, CFX below it.

9950X3D2 max OC VS 14900KF max OC Dynasty Warriors Origins (Katana Engine) by @facegamefps Both systems run great except in once scene (repeatable) where one dips more than the other. 14900KF Stuttering = 0.3% 0.1% Low = 114 9950X3D2 Stuttering = 0.8% 0.1% Low = 70

Smoother gameplay > higher avg fps. This is the actual perf when both are max OC-ed, not like MSM shills show it. AMD's X3D2 from 2026 is more or less equal to Intel i9 from 2023. 🤷‍♂️ And here is a quote from another OC-er that perfectly describes the situation. 👇 by @yzonker

"Daniel Owen & Club386 got their RTX 5090 connectors melted." In 2026 & we're still debating if the 12V-2x6 connector has a flawed design? Really? Never happened before with the 8pin ones & PSU AIBs are coming up with crazy mitigations for this, but we're still not sure? 🤦‍♂️

Since the launch of this connector there have been many reports of this issue, and like I said above you never heard of the 8pin one melting before. And it's not just nvidia GPUs, AMD GPUs that are using this same connector suffer from this issue too.

I refuse to believe the PCI-SIG industry group with Nvidia, AMD, etc cannot find a solution to make it as reliable as the 8pin one. Sure you can buy the best PSU & cables & GPU and mitigate this issue as much as you can, but does not change the fact that this needs to be fixed.
