Tesla earnings call last night. The podcast shares clips and details from the call that suggest this.
Tesla's targeting Cybercab deliveries to customers by the end of 2026, but says the vast majority will remain Tesla-owned, operating as part of its Robotaxi fleet.
Does this change how you feel about the Cybercab?
Would you rather own one yourself or see Tesla build out a massive autonomous ride-hailing network?
Tesla may have just pulled off one of the greatest marketing stunts in history.
IKEA. Burger King. AXE. Razer. And countless other brands turned the Roadster reveal into their own advertising campaigns.
They're playing checkers while Elon plays chess. He got the entire internet to market @Tesla for free.

Though I agree that FSD is the end game for almost every car produced on the planet, there’s an entire category of cars where self-driving almost defeats the purpose of owning them.
As someone who’s fortunate enough to try almost every EV in production, it’s clear that anyone buying an AMG GT, or name another high performance car, is doing so because they want it to experience the drive themselves. This is hard for the majority of consumers to relate to, but the Roadster will join that class of cars as well.

Valid question for most cars, and I love FSD more than anyone, but most people buying an AMG GT are probably buying it because they actually want to drive it.
Is this the right way to keep the AMG's soul alive for ICE fans?
Mercedes new AMG GT SUV has 1,169 hp, sub-2.5s 0-60, and 710 kW charging. But they gave it fake V8 engine sounds, simulated gear shifts, fake rev counter and vibrating seat-shakers. I was one of the first in the world to get inside one in Germany last week, curious if this is the approach to win over ICE fans?

Will just hide in my own thrusters cloud! They won’t know I’m there.

Don’t forget taxes. Likely $120k + per vehicle, but no complaining from me.
Update to the Roadsters / verbiage in our account. Before & After.
I guess it’s a bit more promising? 🤷♀️

Incredible work, by an incredible team. Keep crushing it Lars!
Highlights from tonight’s @Tesla Roadster launch.
• 0–60 mph: 0.81s (live; production expected faster)
• Top speed: 230–235+ mph (target ~0.5 Mach / ~380 mph)
• Thrusters: 4–5× tire force, >80,000 N thrust
• Suction fans: up to ~2G downforce (drives upside down)
• Cold-gas thrusters + rechargeable air tank (no special propellant)
• Active aero / Track Mode (near-F1 downforce, Optimus actuators)
• Two-seater, steer-by-wire, SR-71/F-35 inspired
• Production: 2028
Prediction: Roadster drives off the ramp, goes inverted as thrusters rotate and right the vehicle. It then hovers and lands right next to Cybercab to complete the family photo!
