💼 'Breathing space' for today not enough Our response to today's Budget 👇 Chancellor @JohnHealey_MP has announced measures that will help struggling families this winter - but we'll be right back here again next year without more fundamental reforms.

Farage is lying again.
Nigel Farage was unable to attend the Budget in the Commons because his seat reservation was removed, The Telegraph understands. The Reform UK leader’s prayer card — a green slip of paper that backbench MPs put on a spot on the green benches to reserve their seat — was moved after it was placed this morning. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/business/202…

If billionaires in California can accept a 5% #WealthTax (Meta and Nvidia’s bosses have), why is Kemi Badenoch telling Britain it can’t work here? Are our billionaires that greedy, or are our politicians too busy punching down? #Budget2026 #TaxTheRich

Baroness Benefits, Kemi Badenoch has got some front banging on about the benefits bill. £2,700 a month to rent a grade II-listed farmhouse with 6 BEDROOMS £3000 in ELECTRICITY EXPENSES. £4000 for COUNCIL TAX £39,400 per year all courtesy of taxpayers. #Budget2026 #PoliticsLive

Basic human decency wouldn't permit me to be "very happy" if I was nominated for some trinket, knowing that it very needlessly costs someone their life. When the story of Jason Arday is told in full and remembered in history, the British "Journalism" Awards will be ashamed.
Very happy to have been shortlisted in the Specialist Journalism category in this year's British Journalism Awards for my investigation into Cambridge University professor Jason Arday and the extensive plagiarism in his PhD thesis #BJA2026

Given an award for journalism that led to the death of someone who has been found not to have even plagiarised. This country is so disgustingly racist.

£100 for every household to help tackle rising energy bills this winter. Will it be enough to make a real difference? 👀 #Budget2026 #BudgetDay #EnergyBills #CostOfLiving

PSA: Millions of people can’t even afford to put food on the table and cover other essentials right now, let alone build up emergency supplies.

Almost 9 million people across the UK are at risk of needing a food bank in the next year. One in five people have already run out of food and couldn't afford to buy more in the past year. And with further energy price rises on the horizon, millions face continued pressure. The consequences go far beyond hunger. People are losing sleep, struggling with their health and relationships, and finding it harder to work. But this doesn't have to be our future. Ahead of the Budget, we need urgent action to ensure everyone can afford the essentials.

A Zimbabwean man with ILR who lost his city job and is about to claim benefits backs making other migrants wait 15 years for settlement because they might burden the state. The audacity, the hypocrisy, the irony. 🙄 #indefiniteleave

I’m not sure I’ve seen a Nigel Farage press conference quite this empty

The front page of the Guardian journal today. ‘The notion that this woman can lead the UN is a scandal in itself.’

Lol. @tom_watson, grow a thicker skin, will ya? You’ve joined a company implicated in atrocities in Iran and Gaza. Don’t be surprised when people have a lot more to say than “sod off”. #NHSData #NoPalantir #ProtectNHSData #StopMassSurveillance

Will the UK block Lana Nusseibeh’s bid for UN chief? Accountability cannot be selective. Britain must hold its allies to the same standards as everyone else. #Sudan #Gaza #WestBank
The world cannot ignore what is happening in Sudan. One year on from the mass atrocities in El Fasher, the UK is sanctioning those linked to these and other atrocities, and strengthening support for survivors and communities at risk of famine.

It is beyond ridiculous that this man is still a life peer and retains the Labour whip.
Nobody wants to buy a service they can’t walk away from. Palantir’s critics have long claimed we ‘lock in’ our customers. We don’t. This short film explains why. It’s the first in a series on the gap between the rhetoric about Palantir and the work we actually do.
