It’s been a wild ride twitter. Sorry to see you go. 💖
Most of the avocados over here come from north or east Africa and are typically quite good.

Between a major factor in my recent housing search going bust and reading about some proposed legislation that impacts my ability to exist in society I am starting to think that

To be fair, the main reason I could not find affordable housing is because it is hard for girls like us to find safe accepting spaces. So not entirely the fault of academic salaries I suppose.
I just turned down a teaching job a big world class university because the after tax salary was about equal to the median price of a 1br. This is a joke, right?

I was supposed to wake up in the US today. This feels odd. Stupid covid.
I am really tired of gigs falling through because of covid. If people would just wear masks we could solve this. But every western government has wholesale abdicated responsibility. It‘s so exhausting.

Today marks two years since I began Gender Affirming Medical Care. 🎊 If you knew me before, sorry for being such a miserable argumentative SoB. 😉 There was a lot going on under the surface. It took a while, but I’m finally on track. 🏳️‍⚧️

Academic jobs are the “pay you in exposure” of full time stable employment.

It used to be that opera was the pop music of the day. Verdi played in frontier cowboy bars across the American West. I would love the art form to get back there instead of wallowing in nostalgia and esotericism. 🎵🎶

🤷🏻‍♀️ In Highschool in CA we were known to occasionally do a two hour drive to Santa Cruz because there was a coffee shop there that we liked. I tell Europeans that and they lose their minds.
I am really exhausted from living in a world where bad things happen to good people.
