I do understand there's a charm to X, and sharing those types of fly-by, borderline intrusive thoughts But I don't think an app with this kind of design should've ever become a prominent source of information dissemination. It kinda encourages all of us to dumb ourselves down

Like this was from one of the most emotionally-charged times in recent memory so I'm not blaming people for the reactions they had But I can't help but remember the reactions to MPJ's tweets around this time period. And yes, he deserves some culpability for that last tweet

but the context made it exceedingly obvious he wasn't pardoning or forgiving, even though half of this app lit his ass up for saying that. Again, I'm not trying to blame people for their reactions; but how did we get to a point where people cared so much about this app?

Outrage + slop wins the internet these days period but X is so, so, so fucking bad (and always has been) for any kind of nuanced discussion. I've shared this sentiment a lot but there are some things you cannot ELI5, there are some things you cannot discuss on a BS app like this

Sometimes it feels like this world is in such a dark place man. But I need to figure out solutions, I need to develop alternative behaviours that I can fully model and manifest myself as opposed to just venting negative thoughts like this
