After another, quieter, week of layoffs impacting local staff, the Washington Post has now laid off all of its reporters who have covered Gaza full time since 2023. This is a choice about what coverage and whose voices matter.
Been laid off. Grateful for the experience, proud of my contributions giving voice to people from this part of the world, and forever cherishing the friendships I made and will never lose. Please connect with me if you think you have a suitable work opportunity for me.

Gotta love when a @Newsweek hack rushes to get a “Caitlin Clark trade to Sparks rumor” piece out for engagement farming, and forgets to delete their AI chat prompts from the piece. #NowYouKnow @IndianaFever #WNBA

If you want journalism to exist, maybe don't screenshot entire paywalled stories and post them on Twitter. You're not sticking it to the media industry, you're just making it harder for independent reporters to get paid for their work. Absolute loser behavior.

POV: Your boss hosts a swanky party celebrating women in journalism but doesn’t pay most of her own journalists a living wage. 🧐

I feel like I talk about this every quarter, but I’ll say it again. We’re not being invested in. The days of Black ppl, especially women/queer folks/etc., being staff writers are a thing of the past. There are still a few left, but most of us have been forced into freelancing.
where are the black people in hip hop journalism😭

The worst part about this cyclical “where are the Black journalists/Black women in hip-hop media” conversation is nothing is gonna change. Non-Black ppl rule media, *especially* hip-hop. We’ve been sidelined in our own game. Most ppl see these discussions, shrug, and move on.

Pretty much every single train from Boston to NYC is cancelled today… a train that already is slower than trains were in 1960s in most of the world…. The richest country of the world can run drones all over the world but not basic infrastructure for its own people

It’s been 3️⃣ years since we started bargaining on December 15, 2021, and we still don’t have a contract. Here’s a look at the last three years by the numbers:🧵
