Officers Brian Atkinson, Dyerin Gareau, and Evan Farewell ran into a burning house in Syracuse to save two children.
They were the first crews at the Jamesville Avenue fire on Oct 29 and went in first through heavy fire. Two of them found a child on the second floor and got that child out. Zyaire Green, 4, and his brother Zion Greene, 2, both died.
The officers are home now, healing from burned hands, cuts, and smoke inhalation. They did not hesitate. Thank you.
