He just… shrugged. “I hate to imagine what would have happened if the wormhole hadn’t appeared. You saved me.”
“Ah-“
He cringed, trying to find the words. “You’re quicker than I’d hoped. Yes, that’s what happened. I think it was only a misunderstanding, but… As I was trying to explain, he demanded I leave the ship - though, I was only trying to suggest that you’re your own

“Actually… That is, kind of, how I ended up in this position in the first place.”
Actor shook his head again - eyes flicking over to their entwined fingers.
“Oh, that’s true. Which is all the more shameful - I’d like to think I’ve changed. The past is in the past — I can’t undo what’s already done.”
Meeting him with a level tone - and giving a shrug.
“More than I hope you’ll ever have to know.”

a stretch, maybe - but not entirely untrue. giving his hand a squeeze, grounding himself through that little bit of contact. “Well. Almost nothing.”
Actor’s eyes shifted from in front of him to the other. Weakly, he gave a little smile — raising a hand toward the Engineer.
“I guess I forget that, sometimes.”
“Mm…”
He propped himself up on his elbows, just a bit - giving a little nod.
“I’ll be alright. Thank you, Mark. Seems like I haven’t been doing you any favors… I’m sorry.”
Stitches fucking sucked.
But it was nothing he couldn’t handle.
When it was over, it was… Hard not to feel a little lightheaded. He let out a shaky sigh, fighting for his life not to pass out. No- he had to focus.
Just…
Breathing. Waiting.
“It’s okay, Mark. Just… Get it done. Please.”
Bracing himself - heart pounding beneath his ribs. Everything was going according to
plan.
he’d be fine - at least, soon.
the hand that had clutched engineer’s shirt laid flat on his own chest, waiting for the others’ return.
