Dear University Students in the UK, You're paying over £9,000 a year for a degree that prepares you for jobs that already exist in an overly saturated market. At the back of your mind, as you go from lecture to another, you already know that AI and emerging technologies is where the future is going. But you’re worried because you don’t have a foot in the door to enter the rooms that open these career opportunities for you. Until now. Hacker House London is welcome to students curious enough to know what “frontier tech” means, where money will go if they’re given to AI agents, and what this means for a promising, bulletproof career. It’s the cheapest investment in yourself. It’s free. For 2 weeks, you can meet the companies hiring on the same floor as you; they’ll be on computers working next to you; they’ll be sipping their coffees casually while talking about how they’re changing the world. No pressures of a job fair, no printed CVs, you don’t have to sell yourself to impress them. Just be curious, be yourself, turn up, learn from experts, and listen to the people who will lead the trajectory of your future. Come in, build something, meet the people, and get a feel for what your life could be. Register here 👉 dub.sh/hackerhouse

The last year was by far the most hectic for me. I went from starting the year with getting a job I loved and a team I loved working with, to now being unemployed and getting rejected on the daily. Not knowing if AI is getting in the way of things, the market in general or any other things. Now, I can sit a moan about it (which sometimes I do of course), or simply keep moving. Doesn’t really matter what is the direction is at this point, as long as I keep moving, I know it’ll work out. I know there are loads of people in my position as well (some personal friends as well). Things come down before they can come up. It’s the way of things. Let’s get it.

Working in crypto requires knowledge in math, finance, sociology, economy, game theory, regulation, and as of recently LLMs and quantum physics. Then, you need to follow up news, Twitter, telegram, and a couple more channels 24/7. Quite simple. Bullish.

17 jobs across 5 industries. Failed 3 businesses (on my 4th). Made $780k in the last 4 years. Planning to make $ Ms soon. For every success, the formula was the same: - Show up every day. - Do what you know you should do. - Don't give up. Simple right? But very difficult to do. For every failure, the same reasons appeared: - I showed up, but not every day. - I did the work. Most of the days. Well at least, enough to not feel guilty. - I convinced myself that the opportunity wasn't there, that the market isn't ready, that I was to late, etc.. Agency & Consistency. That's all you need. No secret sauce. No AI hack. Just grit.

I watch some university courses online quite often. I always think that the kids there definitely don’t appreciate it as they should.
In school, I hated learning. After school, I loved learning.

For you to understand how atomic txs are important to TradFi I will use an analogy (u know I love those): Imagine you are at a restaurant and you order a meal. The server just starts bringing you each ingredient in the meal, one by one, until you get the meal assembled. Sometimes the server forgets one ingredient or puts too much of another. OR like a normal restaurant, the chef prepares everything and brings you the meal all together ready. Makes sure they have all the ingredients ready and put together before doing any distribution. TradFi still, in a large part acts like the first restaurant. That is why they are coming on-chain.

I am not saying this is correct, but this is why I think even Ethereum or Solana or any other blockchains should not "hate" Canton. Yes, they're inherently different with the fact that the state is separated from the consensus mechanism. That makes crypto natives a little worried because we come from a place where this is how we "don't need trust", by validating the state publicly with no way to hide. However, Canton quite literally "speaks" the language of institutional finance. They have created a blockchain for what they need. Which means that they are more likely to come on-board. I think of it like this - if my goal is to learn another language, I would pick up Spanish rather than Japanese as it is more similar to English. But, after learning Spanish I have the skill and understanding of learning a new language, therefore learning Japanese now does not seem as daunting. I think this is why Canton can be good for other blockchains. Now that TradFi is comfortable with going on-chain with Canton, because it is more similar to their language, they are more likely to then do something on other blockchains. Because the jump to blockchains does not seem as scary anymore. Again, this is just my opinion and it could be flawed. Let me know what you think.

I hate watching a live workshop and the person who is not talking is visibly working and not paying attention to the conversation. They might be listening but they are not fully in the conversation. idk just bugs me...
