Super Bubba’s latest update:
Super Bubba is at clinic right now getting chemo. It’s been a rough week adjusting to the GI tube and all the new meds. They’re making him feel pretty miserable, and it’s so hard watching him struggle.
Please pray his labs look good today and that these targeted medications are doing exactly what they’re supposed to do: working on that brain tumor and keeping it from growing even shrinking it.
He’s been so brave through all of this. I hate seeing him in pain, but we’re holding onto hope and trusting God with every step.
We are praying boldly for his second miracle, please pray with us.

Mr. Mason here, Joanne's surgery went well, but she had an allergic reaction to a medication she's better now but we were really worried for a while. Thanks everyone for your prayers I appreciate it and I know she does. God is so good.

CMPD Chief Stella Patterson emerged from the shadows to offer canned answers about the CMPD group text fiasco but not about the 9 people killed in Charlotte over the weekend.
Nothing about the arrests of 2 additional juveniles in the murder of a four year old.
Not a word about the 5 additional shootings that have occurred over the last five days.
CMPD Chief Estella Patterson told me she does not know if she will ever let the public see the text messages sent by 7 officers in an alleged racist group chat.
She also told me the pressure of trying to hire more officers may have led to relaxed vetting procedures.

The same people who pushed the Excelsior Club gift and Bank of America Stadium donation, and sales tax increase now want you to believe these bonds won't raise property taxes, yet the first words on the ballot are additional property taxes may be levied.
They want to use the additional funds to build more bike lanes as if we needed more bike lanes.
They also want to add more affordable housing. Charlotte can't afford any more affordable housing.
Remember they want you to believe ...
"And they don't raise property taxes … the city pays for them within the existing tax rate."
But the first paragraph of the referendum says:
"Additional property taxes may be Levied on property located in the city of Charlotte in an amount sufficient to pay the principle of and interest on bonds if approved by the following ballot question"

Be Strong and of a Good Courage
Joshua stood where the wilderness ended and the Promised Land began. Moses was dead. The Jordan lay ahead. Giants waited beyond it. Into that moment God spoke:
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest” (Joshua 1:9).
This is not counsel— it’s a command. Strength and courage are the response God requires of those He calls. Fear freezes. Dismay drains. Both fix their eyes on the enemy and the unknown. Faith fixes its eyes on the God who has already gone before.
The ground of our courage is not our own resolve. It is His presence: “the Lord thy God is with thee.” He does not send us across the river alone. He walks with us into every battle, every responsibility, every season that feels beyond us. His presence is not limited by circumstance or geography. Wherever the path leads, He is already there.
You may stand at your own Jordan today. The command has not changed. Neither has the promise. God is with you. Open His Word. Trust His presence. And move forward—not in your strength, but in His.
Be strong and of a good courage. The Lord your God is with you.

I did many very difficult things when I was in the military, but the most difficult thing by far was being on funeral detail.
I was the one that had to hand over the folded flag to the family.

There was once a shepherd who found a wolf caught in a snare at the edge of his pasture.
The wolf begged to be freed.
“I was hungry,” it said. “That is all. Spare me, and I will remember your mercy!”
The shepherd cut the rope.
The next night, three lambs were gone.
Again the shepherd found the wolf. Again it pleaded. Again the shepherd convinced himself that mercy was proof of his goodness.
By winter, half the flock was dead.
An old farmer finally asked him, “Why do you keep freeing it?”
The shepherd answered, “Because I refuse to become cruel.”
The farmer looked at the empty field and said, “Then understand what you have done. You were not merciful to the wolf. You were cruel to everything that trusted you to keep them safe.”
That’s the lesson.
Mercy without judgment isn’t virtue. When someone openly intends to destroy what has been entrusted to you, endless forgiveness doesn’t make you righteous. It makes everyone behind you pay for your vanity.

UPDATE ON THE GUILFORD COUNTY STUDENT WHO WAS GIVEN THE COVID SHOT WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT.
Happel v. Guilford County Board of Education (NC Court of Appeals).
The NC Supreme Court sent this case back down to the NC Appeals Court.
The NC Court of Appeals has now revived state constitutional claims over a 14-year-old who got a COVID vaccine without a parent's consent.
The NC Court of Appeals has ruled that the private clinic that gave the shot can be treated as acting for the state.
Upshot: the family can sue Guilford County.
