Funding to fielding is a real estate problem before it is a production problem. Power at the fence line, the right talent, proximity to the end user. This is the map we use with the firms we advise: the U.S. defense industrial base, 173 facilities, where the federal money is going, where the political gravity sits, where the talent and incentives are. Want actual sites in any of these markets? DM me.

NYC - powerhouse deal here. The trophy office market in the city is unmatched anywhere in the world.
Vornado, Ken Griffin and Rudin closed their joint venture for 350 Park Avenue in Manhattan today and closed a $3.3 billion construction loan for the project. Citadel Enterprise Americas signed a 1.05 million square foot anchor lease in the 66-story, 1.9 million square foot tower. Griffin holds 60 percent of the venture, Vornado holds 36 percent and Rudin holds 4 percent. For more CRE visit our Substack: thecrereport.substack.com

Build what matters.
If you are building the next AI CRM you are genuinely cooking your future grandchildren. You are way too smart for something meaninglessly incremental. Only things people should be building in SF: >AI labs >Compute maximization >Reindustrialization >Energy abundance >Robotics & defense >Bio >Physical infra Everything else becomes irrelevant if China wins. They are already very, very far ahead of us in energy, metals, manufacturing capacity, and the general ability to produce physical things at scale.

Agreed. And put the building in the sim too. The best line in the world sits idle if the power isn't actually on. @konstantinsaifo @AirsupHQ xitter.cf/konstantinsaifo/status…
every hardware company should simulate their factory before they build it. software teams have staging. hardware teams have "lets see what happens on the line🤡"

Good to see more batteries getting built here. One thing people miss - lithium batteries come with strict fire rules. If your real estate team isn't talking to the local fire marshal before you sign, you could end up stuck in a building you can't use. @newindustrials @ARPAE xitter.cf/newindustrials/status/…
The future of warfare runs on batteries. America needs to be able to build them. Yesterday, NAIA joined @ARPAE and the Virtus Innovation Center in Arlington, Virginia, to host Next Generation Batteries for Tactical Systems, bringing together battery innovators, defense officials, and industry leaders to explore how we can accelerate the deployment of these technologies. The mission: Get American innovation into the field, faster

More robots, more power, more builders nearby. Good to see Machina growing. @EdwardMehr @MachinaLabs_ xitter.cf/MachinaLabs_/status/21…
Big Q3 at Machina. More RoboCraftsmen. New software. Hypersonics. Custom vehicles. UAVs. And a lot more metal. This is exciting but our plans are far more ambitious. We need more engineers and builders that want to rethink what a factory should be. Come build unconventional with us.

The clock starts the day you pick the building. Build close to where they fly and fixes get back out to the field faster. Think about that before you sign a lease - being close to your end user is big. Also know the floor plan of the building you're leasing. Can it adapt as the feedback changes and the drone changes? xitter.cf/BreakingDefense/status…

From 120 STRIKERs for testing to an order for 6,000!! Lets go! Now comes the hard part - building them in the US at that scale and fast. Also the only drone company I know of with its own construction arm to handle the factory build-outs. There are a few selective markets they should build them. @XTEND_XR @shapira7392 businesswire.com/news/home/2…

No one company has all the answers. Hypercraft builds the truck, Forterra drives it, 9 Mothers protects it from drones. Stacking systems like this is how stuff actually gets to the field. Neros is winning because they're relentless about testing in the field, working at the ground level. Cool stuff out of Czechia. A million a year, let's go @soren_ma @neros_tech xitter.cf/neros_tech/status/2109…
We recently wrapped our attendance in Czechia at the NATO Drone Shield Competition, where we completed every challenge in record time: GNSS-denied long range strike, electronic warfare testing, intercepting a fixed-wing target, and night operations. The demonstration was designed to test small unmanned systems across a variety of mission profiles in support of future orders across allied nations.

Good on DIU for tackling this, and for calling out the problem in plain English right in the CLASS ACT solicitation: "A classified contract is required to obtain an FCL, yet an FCL is required to compete for and perform on a classified contract." If you're applying and need to think through what to do for space once you're cleared, would be good to connect.@DIU_x

NYC Trophy pricing in Miami
Peter Thiel's family office agreed to pay $250 per square foot for 18,000 square feet at 830 Brickell, the most expensive office lease in Miami history. It beat the prior record, nearly $200 a foot, set by the same space on the 44th floor. Miami is now pricing like Manhattan. For more CRE visit our Substack: thecrereport.substack.com

Data centers vs defense plants. Same grid, same megawatts. Over 80% of the data center space being built is already leased, and drone and ammo plants are in line for the same power. Lake City makes most of the West's small-caliber ammo, and the Army just put $99.7M into its own power plant there because it didn't trust the grid. Power price matters too: about 5.6¢/kWh in Oklahoma City and Tulsa vs 9.2¢ in Columbus. Ask when you get power, and what it costs, before you ask about square feet. @TheCREReport_ xitter.cf/TheCREReport_/status/2…

Even if the factory becomes a file, it still has to land somewhere. Clean power, a slab that holds tolerance and people who can keep the laser running. @konstantinsaifo @AirsupHQ xitter.cf/konstantinsaifo/status…
I asked Claude Opus 5.5 to design a machine that builds machines (Matter compiler). It built the whole cell: UV laser, vision, bond head, index table. 27 layers, every cut measured, one working relay. Is this the end of the assembly line?
