A JKT48 x AKB48 collaboration event in Jakarta saw some ugly scenes, when Japanese fans of AKB48 attempted to push through to the front of the audience. One incident can be seen at xitter.cf/baullah_habi/status/21…
This led to AKB48 issuing an apology, saying they will take strict action against those who do not follow the event rules. Several Japanese fans commented that this behaviour has been allowed for far too long, with many demanding a permanent ban on the perpetrators. The performance was celebrating the release of JKT48's 28th single, "Ayo Senyumlah". xitter.cf/AKB48_staff/status/211…

Sakurazaka46 appear to be getting good publicity from their "Let's Travel by Train" campaign with JR_East, which runs from July until November 30. As well as a few stations with special displays and features, the posters seem to be turning up all across the JR-East network, like on this footbridge at the small, rural Minakami station in Gunma prefecture.
An idol group from the Japanese Communist Party was not something many expected. "Party Commu!" is a suggested anime-style group from singer and politician Ami Fujibayashi. However she has deleted her initial post after complaints about the group image (pic) with followers feeling it showed a number of things the Communist Party are against, such as sexualisation of women with the skimpy outfits, and a lack of diversity among the members, as well as the use of AI. Ami has said the image will be redrawn, ensuring the members are depicted with diversity in mind. xitter.cf/fujibayashiami/status/…
【Party Commu!について】
「Party Commu!」

The Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) have reported record royalty payments of 75.6 billion yen (US$481 million) in the first half of the year, an increase of 2.8%. Interactive streaming (up 7.8%), concerts (up 5.1%) and karaoke (up 5.0%) all did well. JASRAC say their policy is to ensure that the value of music is reliably returned to creators, while also addressing challenges such as AI-generated music. oricon.co.jp/news/2487273/fu…
AKB48 will release a very special MV for "Aitakatta 2026", the coupling song for their 68th single, "Suki-ish". It is shot in the same costumes and at the same location as the original. The pics that AKB48 have released show similar scenes to the 2006 version, however it is not an exact remake, with the group hoping fans will enjoy the subtle differences and, according to Eriko Hashimoto, it also contains homages to other AKB48 songs. The MV will be released on October 25. akb48.co.jp/news/detailpage/…

Sayaka Kato, of idol group Akagidan, has been talking about being an idol, although she is almost completely blind. The 38-year-old was a founder member of the group back in 2011, but by the age of 30, she began experiencing severe headaches and blurred vision. This led to emergency surgery to remove a malignant tumor, 8 centimeters in diameter, which was compressing her optic nerve, but her sight never recovered. The self-described "blind idol", encouraged by the other members, returned to activities 3 months after the surgery. She says her body remembers the old songs, but new songs are a challenge. She has to listen to the lyrics repeatedly to memorize them, and receives hands-on instruction for the choreography. She hopes that her presence on stage will encourage other visually impaired people to not give up, and inspire them to take a step forward towards what they want to do. topics.smt.docomo.ne.jp/arti…

This is the group's seventh consecutive number one single, and their 15th overall. oricon.co.jp/news/2487426/fu…
Uma Musume have announced the cancellation of "Uma Musume Pretty Derby 7th EVENT WORLD TOUR 'THE STAGE' in LOS ANGELES", which was to have been held on October 22 and 23, due to being unable to obtain the necessary visas. Management say they had been working with local lawyers and promoters to put this event together for six months, with 17 voice actresses expected to attend, and explored every possible option to get it to go ahead up until the last minute. Ticket holders, and those who had booked tours through JTB, will be refunded, and the company are considering how to to handle other fans who were planning to attend the performance, many of whom have already travelled to Los Angeles. umamusume.jp/news/detail?id=…
PLANCK STARS have announced that Nagisa Juri has graduated from the group after just one day with the controversial idol group, citing mental burnout and distress regarding the group's live style and interactions, describing them as disgusting/repulsive. It should, however, be noted that management love publicity which portrays them as the "wild child" of the idol world. Fans are divided over whether this is genuine, or just another stunt.
Note that the group are recruiting up to the end of October with the caveat of "If you can tolerate dirty live performances and creepy otaku, please apply".
One of the longest named idol groups, "Tsuki ni Ashiato wo Nokoshita Shoujo Tachi wa Ittai Nani wo Mita no ka...", have disbanded after 5½ years, at a final concert in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The group, which roughly translates as "What on earth did the girls who left their footprints on the moon see...", said that although Tsukiato is disbanding, their journey will not stop, and thanked everyone who had supported them. xitter.cf/tsukiato_staff/status/…
