🤣🤣 President Trump is exactly right. Somaliland is not Somalia. Well past time for the United States to formally recognize it.

Don't confuse Somaliland with anything that Ilhan Omar supports. They have a working Democracy and freedom. They have a functional government and trade internationally. They have a deep water port. Americans have always recognized people who cherish freedom and peace. @JSLToday
A warm welcome to the Somaliland ministers and senior advisers to President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro as they arrive tonight at MSP International Airport. We look forward to three productive days of engagement with Minnesota’s Somaliland community. Ku soo dhawaada Minnesota!

This is a strategic move for the safety and welfare of the world, the Somalilanders and the American people. Somaliland is an independent, democratic nation. Ilhan Omar is not their friend. But they are a real country wanting peace and prosperity. Burberra is a deep-water port that sits in the gulf of Aden. Across from the Houthis, and controls a stretch of coastline that guards the Bab el Mandeb strait. It is a choke point for global trade. America is using Djibouti to move materials, China already has a military base there. By moving to Burberra in cooperation with Somalilanders. It gives peace in the region a stronger stance. And military dominance to assist in maritime movement. This cooperation, with a stable government. Gives a strong foot hold for military logistics, maritime surveillance and counter terrorism against al Shabaab. Somaliland wants to trade and cooperate with the United States. A functioning democracy, that is helping the fight on the war on terror. Its time we recognize a free people with a working government. @JSLToday @SenTedCruz
POLITICO confirms President Irro's will meet with the below; 1) Senator Ted Cruz, who has previously advocated U.S. recognition of Somaliland. 2) Rep. Brian Mast, Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. 3) Frank Garcia, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs. 4) Senior Pentagon officials.

🚨Breaking News: Allegedly, the United States 🇺🇸 has DENIED visas to the #Somalian🇺🇳 delegation that was set to attend the United Nations General Assembly, beginning Tuesday. This is a developing story, but it marks a critical juncture for the Horn of Africa and the Gulf of Aden. Notably, the President of #Somaliland is already in Washington, making this a pivotal moment in regional diplomacy. We will continue to follow this closely.

Why would any U.S. politician work to strengthen the U.S. relationship with Somalia. The President of Somalia is a HVT - not our ally. Our only communication with Somalia should be via JDAMs. The fraud is state sponsored!
President @HassanSMohamud welcomed Congressman Darin LaHood (@RepLaHood) of Illinois to Villa Somalia for a courtesy meeting. Their discussions focused on further strengthening the Somalia–U.S. partnership, particularly the robust security cooperation that continues to deliver tangible gains in the fight against international terrorism, while expanding collaboration across other areas of mutual interest. President Hassan Sheikh reaffirmed that the United States remains a trusted and long-standing strategic partner of Somalia and expressed his appreciation for the enduring U.S. support in advancing peace, security, and the strengthening of Somali institutions.

Last night, something powerful unfolded. At a distinguished London fashion gala, the Somalian 🇸🇴 ambassador to the UK 🇬🇧 walked out- simply because we, Somalilanders, were present. We were welcomed with distinction: alongside the High Commissioner of Kenya, mayors of London boroughs, and delegations from Tanzania, DRC, and many other nations. The shock and dismay from the #Somalian side were palpable, but let me be clear: we will never be silent and we will never hide who we are. Somalilanders are distinct, forged apart from the 35 years of chaos in #Mogadishu. We carry our identity boldly, and we stand proud-no matter who tries to erase us. This is just the beginning, we will never stop asserting our identity, our dignity, and our right to stand apart from this mayhem. Lastly thank you to our Dir people who love #Somaliland and support their independence. We see you and we will stand with you from now on. One people.

Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) must urge Ethiopia to finalize its recognition of Somaliland to secure the Horn of Africa. Following Israel's historic recognition of Somaliland, Ethiopia is the natural next step. Addis Ababa already signed a landmark deal to lease a naval port in Berbera in exchange for recognizing Somaliland's statehood. However, intense pressure from Somalia and the United Nations Security Council has delayed the final signature. By leveraging their immense diplomatic and financial power, Israel and the UAE can shield landlocked Ethiopia from international backlash. The UAE’s massive investments in the Berbera corridor, paired with Israel's security goals, depend entirely on regional stability. Aligning with Ethiopia locks in a powerful, democratic alliance that secures vital Red Sea shipping lanes against hostile regional actors.

As Red Sea insecurity reshapes regional geopolitics, Somaliland's strategic relevance is increasingly being determined by security partnerships and maritime access rather than formal diplomatic recognition. This analysis argues that "operational recognition" may be redefining the relationship between sovereignty, security, and regional order in the Horn of Africa. ifa.gov.et/blog/699

🚨 #Breaking - Last night an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fired missiles at the Gargaar area, located in the Bulaxaar District of the Saaxil Region. The area is mountainous and situated approximately 30 km from the coast. Local residents reported no casualties, though they noted that flames and smoke engulfed the vegetation and the specific sites where the missiles struck. Residents who contacted Cige Media stated that the aircraft approached from the direction of the sea and subsequently returned that way. Stay tuned here for further updates. #Somaliland #Yemen #GulfofBerbera
