We began our boats and buoyancy unit today! We made predictions about various objects whether they sink or float, and then tested them!
We had the opportunity for an in school field trip for Grade 2 to build their own Inukshuk Soapstone art. Students explored a variety of centres discovering more about Inuit communities from the past!
While exploring Arctic Communities, Grade 2 attempted to build igloos both outside with snow, and using marshmallows.
This week we are exploring the concept of addition and subtraction through play, games, manipulatives, and representing numbers using number sentences!
Happy Earth Day! We created a representation of our planet with a collage style mosaic art piece. We also explored liquids by creating water filters. We designed, built, and experimented with our filters to determine if they work correctly!
