GPCRs are the target of ~30% of medications. Cells use G proteins and β-arrestins as communication pathways. We show these proteins can interact directly, revealing that GPCR signaling is more connected than previously understood.@MGBdermatology @HMS_BCMP nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

The Stephen Rothman Memorial Award is the Society for Investigative Dermatology's highest honor, recognizing distinguished service to investigative cutaneous medicine. This year's recipient is our very own, Dr.@ThomasKupper3!
Congrats on this prestigious and well-deserved honor!
Congratulations to @BobbyHollings and @beccajcarlson on their launch of @deliverome! Excited to collaborate with them and see where their efforts to map the cell-surface receptor proteome land! ifp.org/the-deliverome-proje…
Excited to share a project using AlphaFold-guided design to identify functional nanobody binders to the itch receptor MRGPRX2! Excited about this and other computational approaches

The 117th and final pitch of Garrett Crochet's night went 100.2 mph, tied for his fastest of the season. He finished with 11 strikeouts, didn't walk anyone and exits with a 2-1 lead for the Red Sox. The first playoff start of Crochet's career was brilliant.

We are excited to share a preprint detailing biochemical and cellular evidence for direct interactions between G proteins and beta-arrestins, two proteins critical to the function of G protein coupled receptors. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
As G protein coupled receptors are the target of ~30% of all FDA approved medications, new pathways critical to GPCR signaling shape not only our understanding of how cells respond to hormones and other stimuli, but also can help guide drug discovery efforts.
This work was made possible thanks wonderful institutions and colleagues across the USA including @SudarRajagopal @lab_tall @BlacklowLab. Thank you to @NIH, @NIH_NIAMS, and USA taxpayers for supporting this research. @HMS_BCMP @BrighamWomens @bwhdermatology @dukebiochem
A wonderful visit! Thank you for sharing outstanding science and incredible hospitality. @UTSWDerm is clearly an excellent home for physician-scientists. Special thanks to @JosephMerolaMD for the invitation to share my research!
We were thrilled to host Dr. Jeffrey S. Smith (BWH/HMS) for Wednesday’s UTSW Derm research seminar!
He shared insights on GPCR signaling in dermatology, an exciting look at the molecular mechanisms shaping our field.
