Lets also not forget what this vile piece of crap did to the late Andrew Sachs. Karma is a bitch and this scumbag deserves 20yrs +. For all the brave ladies who came forward, you deserve the deepest respect.
Philip Seymour Hoffman left an estimated $35 million. His will left nothing directly to his three children, and the IRS was expected to take about $15 million of it.
He signed the will on October 7, 2004, when he had only one child, his son Cooper. He never updated it. Two daughters, Tallulah and Willa, came later.
Everything went to Mimi O'Donnell, the mother of all three kids. The will called her his "friend and companion." They were never married.
That one detail is what cost so much. A husband can leave his wife any amount free of federal estate tax. A partner gets no such break. Estate lawyers estimated the bill at around $15 million.
He was warned. In Manhattan Surrogate's Court filings, his accountant said Hoffman rejected a trust for the kids again and again, as recently as the year before he died. He "did not want his children to be considered 'trust fund' kids."
His lawyer said the same: Hoffman "did not like the idea of setting up a trust for his children." He trusted Mimi to take care of them.
The will had one more wish. He wanted Cooper raised in or near Manhattan, Chicago or San Francisco, and if not, to visit them at least twice a year, so he would see culture, arts and architecture.
He died of an overdose in February 2014. He was 46.
In the video below, Hoffman explains that he wants people to work for a personal stake, not just a job: "I think you get the best work that way."
The case for Philip: he wanted his kids to grow up working, not waiting for a check, and he left it all to the woman raising them.
The case against: by refusing to marry or sign one trust, he handed the IRS a fortune that could have been theirs.
Was it a father protecting his kids from money, or a father who let the IRS take their share?
I was privileged enough to see Sir Patrick Stewart and @IanMcKellen in 'Waiting For Godot' and it is an experience I will never forget. God Speed Patrick and thank you for sharing your talent and gift with the world. 🙏
Sir Patrick Stewart has died at the age of 86.
The beloved actor – known for playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek and Professor Charles Xavier in X-Men, among other acclaimed roles – died on Wednesday following a brief battle with Alzheimer's disease and Lewy body dementia.
A post on his social media shared the sad news, adding: "We will forever cherish the peaceful ease and reflection on his face, an enduring reminder of his invincible grace."

My good friend Auntie Maria (@madridnantes ) has been busy making these lovely cat blankies.
She is doing it to raise money for cat rescues.
If you send her a DM (whatever that is) then she will give you details of how you can buy them.
Another way to help is by sharing this post.
Thank you so much.

In my opinion, we're going to lose something incredibly valuable to the cultural fabric & history of this country. If Radio 4 Extra with its carefully curated archive isn't the epitome of public service broadcasting, well, I don't know what is. Only the BBC can do it. A sad day.

On this day in 1965, the first edition of The Magic Roundabout was broadcast on BBC1. Using the animation from the French show Le Manège Enchanté, completely new scripts (which bore no resemblance to the originals) were written and narrated by Eric Thompson.

Apparently the usual people on social media are disgusted that Altai the tiger at Yorkshire wildlife park is not seen to be showing any remorse for killing the man who jumped into his enclosure.
What are they expecting the tiger to be holding a minutes fucking silence? Wearing a black armband perhaps? 🤦♂️
This is happening again on the 17.10.26.

Michael Crawford’s return to the Phantom of the Opera stage brought back four decades of memories – and a few jitters 🎭
The original Phantom, now 84, reunited with his "Christine" – Sarah Brightman – for the musical’s 40th-anniversary celebration at London’s His Majesty’s Theatre, where they first starred together in 1986.
"It was very nerve-racking," Michael admitted. "But a fabulous evening."
And the British actor was grateful for every second.
“You don’t dream of something like that happening in your lifetime,” he said. “You just don’t” 😭
