Emotionally tough to see a farewell of sorts to Hockey Night in Canada's NHL coverage, but I think this new venture into Olympic-level sports and some PWHL HNIC on CBC Saturday nights will be a massive success.
I'm confident this show will surprise some with its viewership numbers.

The small town of Gander in the Canadian province of Newfoundland saw its population virtually double when U.S. airspace was closed on 9/11, grounding 38 international flights on an island in the Atlantic Ocean.
For five days, Newfoundlanders gave shelter and comfort to 7,000 stranded passengers and crew members. @conorknighton talks with Newfoundlanders who volunteered during the emergency, whose generosity to the "plane people" inspired the Broadway musical @wecomefromaway.

Canadiens vs Sabres...
Montreal is going to have its hands full with a forecheck that gave Boston all kinds of trouble.
Buffalo leads playoffs in forecheck chances & goals via takeaways.
Sabres have the top-3 forwards in my forechecking archetype model (playoffs) & 5 are top 25.

A statement on the passing of John Garrett:

ALT It is with profound sadness we share the news of the sudden passing of John Garrett, a beloved colleague, friend, and one of the most familiar voices in Canadian hockey. “Cheech” was a legend. His warmth, humour, and genuine love for the game endeared him to fans and colleagues alike. He brought insight, authenticity, and heart to every broadcast. He will be remembered not only for his remarkable career, but for the kindness and joy he shared with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. John will be missed immensely. Our deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones.
