“We just got our asses beat by trying everything I support, why would we let up now?”
Amazing that some seem to believe that the post-Trump right will revert to “conservatism” (the subordinated junior wing of procedural liberalism), rather than becoming even more substantive and forceful.

Total millennial victory. The new boomers are here, history will remember last night as the day we came in to our inheritance.

Oh my God this is it. The global populist far-right is going to be on their heels. We can roll it back.

calling Peltola “Catholic”—another big win for Unitatis Redintegratio.
Democrats are poised to win back the Senate — sending a Methodist pastor, a Presbyterian seminarian, a Muslim doctor, and a Catholic Native American to Washington while reelecting a Jewish Southerner in Georgia. This is America at its best.

"We came to love Rome deeply. We love her still. But Latin taught us precision. It taught us that a canonist must weigh every word, because words carry the life of persons. And when we look at the grades in your archive, we can only smile: our lowest mark was a seven, in Public Ecclesiastical Law." Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew, speaking in Rome this week.

I am so sick of people projecting Christianity onto Jews. We don’t find nobility in dying for the sake of others (like Jesus did on the cross). This mindset is completely foreign to us bc we view life as the most sacred thing.

The mystery of loving someone starts when we look at them without wanting to own them, without wanting to control them, without wanting to use their gifts or personality in any way—we just look and marvel at the beauty that's been revealed to us. When I find myself face to face with a person whom I see through the eyes of love, I become one with that person, and something common begins between us, a shared life. The perception of a person occurs at a depth that is beyond words, beyond emotions. A believer would say: when I see a person in this light, in the light of pure love, I see in him the image of God, an icon. Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh
