It is essential that we #KeepVATat5. Keeping the VAT rate on tickets at 5% for the next 3 years will make a huge impact on the festival sector's recovery. Festivals have not sold many tickets in this period and 82% of AIF members consider this extension to be a vital measure.

Our Chair, @julianknight15, along with over 100 cultural sector names, has written to the Chancellor, @RishiSunak, calling on @hmtreasury to back insurance that will kickstart planning for festivals and live performances this summer. #FutureOfFestivalsInquiry

It’s crucial that @RishiSunak’s statement tomorrow supports live music. 210,000 people rely on concerts and festivals for employment, but we’ll be one of the last sectors to open. The UK’s live music industry is world-beating. Without support, it won’t survive #LetTheMusicPlay
Owing to the widespread effects of & ongoing uncertainty surrounding Covid-19, it is with the heaviest of hearts we have no option but to postpone this year’s planned Jack Up The Summer festival 😢
