I know words don’t mean much in politics but Gutierrez has voted no on basically every good housing bill so against that background this tagline is kind of rich
Congratulations to our Majority Leadership team getting ready to make history while delivering An Arizona We Can Afford 👏

She was actually the only Democrat to vote no on HB 2110 which allowed more adaptive reuse

There were some problems with the OTA software update there are still some malfunctioning units running around
I found it fascinating how here in Arizona they were expecting such a huge Republican turnout that they massively overrigged the cheat. Dems winning by double digits is a lot harder to buy than winning by a few points, so even a third grader can see the cheat.

What if we induced demand for things that were good for us
Barcelona rearranged space for lots of people to easily get around on bicycles. Now lots of people get around on bicycles. This is a form of induced demand.

So you’ve noticed Donald has been talking about how you’re going to be able to land helicopters on top of the ballroom
The pictures I saw of downtown Austin that night were like Bucharest after Ceausescu.

Lmao he actually said it 🍹🥴
Gov. Josh Shapiro called out outgoing Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman for blowing up a transit funding deal during the 2025 budget, and went after Pittman's floor speech from that time.

Now that PA Dems have their first trifecta in 33 years, we’re closer to having a fully funded SEPTA than ever before. Please sign this petition and ask your legislators on day 1 to have a plan ready for a PERMANENT funding solution: 5thsqadvocacy.org/accelerate…

We have an opening date for the Schuylkill Crossing Swing Bridge: next Friday, November 13th, per the Streets Department and Schuylkill Banks. Super stoked for this 🥳 Now we need a date for the bridge to the Delaware River Trail at South Street.
Awesome progress on the swing bridge at Schuylkill Crossing. This will provide a walking/biking pathway between SW Philly and Center City, offering an important connection between the two areas. Photo is from Schuylkill Banks.

The irony is functionally our current system actually gives voters who don’t live in cities more voting power but this isn’t enough for these people. They want like cows to count for congressional seats or something

We have a whole chamber where Wyoming and California get the same number of votes and what’s even craaaazier is prior to the 1960s some states had systems that worked like this too

Look let’s take a step back. Jesse Watters is a clown. And I don’t mean that in the usual more figurative sense, I’m making a more literal comparison. He is a person who puts on makeup and does a live show where he does and says silly things on purpose for entertainment purposes. This isn’t going to end his career, accuracy isn’t the point
This should be enough to end his career as a TV host 🤭

The thing is whether you're actually a drooling idiot or you're just pretending to be one this kind of thing is basically disqualifying. Good luck, California
We asked Xavier Becerra if he identifies as a NIMBY or a YIMBY and I am still dying over his answer. Great interview by @SophiaBollag, who tried to get him to say literally anything substantive.

20th & Market: Driver stops in the travel lane right before market Person behind him honks “You think you can honk at me?! I’m turning” “It’s no left turn!” “I don’t care what it is, I’m turning!” Guy proceeds to cut off the traffic turning right to turn onto Market while holding his cell phone Philly drivers: ignorant, dangerous, and proud of it

The fact that these council members plan to carve their districts out of a citywide housing plan—and that realistically *they can* and nobody will stop them—makes us look deeply unserious as a city

“Ooh you ride something powered by your own legs? That’s gay, real men drive trucks!” Have you driven a pickup truck manufactured in the last ten years? Not what I would call hard living
The recent performative bicycle hate is really weird. I have always known Republicans who rode bikes. Is this part of the whole thing where they’re unwittingly ceding masculinity to the left?
