🚨 Exclusive: The White House made a direct call to FIFA to ask Gianni Infantino to review Folarin Balogun’s red card.
FIFA approached for comment and referred to the findings of its independent committee.
FIFA sources insist White House influence could not affect the decision due to the powers contained in Article 27 and the independent nature of the disciplinary panel.
Michael Carrick expected to manage against Bournemouth at the weekend, as we reported on @talkSPORT earlier. He'll face the media as always. Business as usual at Old Trafford for now, despite normal succession planning in case a change is made.

EXC: understand Fabian Hurzeler would not be interested in leaving #BHAFC for #MUFC. More on @talkSPORT
BREAKING: Fabian Hürzeler is not interested in leaving Brighton for Manchester United.
Hürzeler one of the names appreciated in case Michael Carrick departs.
Julian Nagelsmann also viewed as one of the leading contenders.
More on @talkSPORT.

Unai Emery formed part of Manchester United’s process before they hired Michael Carrick. Would still need convincing to leave Villa despite a summer of notable exits as he’s given significant control at Villa Park. Antonio Conte, Eddie Howe, Simone Inzaghi and Cesc Fabregas among other names appreciated as part of normal succession planning which, it should be stressed, is different to interviewing.
Bromley confirm Andy Woodman has left in what the club call “mutual termination”.
🚨 Bromley set to part ways with Andy Woodman. It follows a 4-0 loss to Leicester leaving Bromley 23rd in League One.

🚨 In an exclusive with @alex_crook, Bournemouth owner Bill Foley says the club “haven't given up” on Alex Scott signing a new deal. He adds, “Sometimes players get stars in their eyes, and they think that #CFC or #MCFC is the right place to go.”

Harry Kane has now scored in 10 straight Champions League games.
He moves ahead of Ruud van Nistelrooy (Manchester United, 2002–03) and Robert Lewandowski (Bayern, 2019–20 and 2020–21).
If Kane scores at Atletico Madrid on November 3, he'll equal Cristiano Ronaldo's record (Real Madrid, 2017–18) of scoring in 11 consecutive #UCL matches.🎯
Manchester United's Como humiliation exposed almost every issue at the club.
There's no swagger synonymous with serial winners of the past. There's no fear factor from opponents. Como controlled the ball and the game, and were rarely put under pressure.
The team currently lacks confidence, chemistry and depth. No one devoid of blame, from the Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe to Michael Carrick and the players.
Manchester United look passive, adapting to their opponents' styles instead of imposing their own identity.
In recent weeks, we have seen early goals conceded, needless errors, toothless attacking, and not enough work done on or off the ball.
Add to that, players speaking their minds. Lisandro Martinez called out Jason Wilcox before apologising, and Bruno Fernandes said tonight that more tactical bravery is needed.
The seven-game winless run has not only exposed a lack of business over the summer in key areas, but also tested Carrick's own ability to manage during a more congested calendar. Injuries haven't helped, but can't be used as an excuse.
The Manchester United boss is now under pressure, especially with several high-profile managers available, including Julian Nagelsmann and Antonio Conte.
No quick fix, and that includes changing manager. Yet history shows Manchester United managers tend to pay the price.
United sources have always insisted in recent weeks they want to back Carrick, but the same was said about Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim, who were both then fired weeks later.
Como get a memorable 4-1 #UCL win over Manchester United. The outstanding Nico Paz with a brace that moves Como into the top eight.
Manchester United are seven games without a win. Last time that happened was 2015 when Michael Carrick was playing for #MUFC.
Visitors were passive, error-strewn and largely devoid of chemistry or fight.
Take nothing away from Como, but that was extremely poor from Manchester United, who were outclassed and outplayed all over the park.
Como punishing Manchester United. Nico Paz superb.
Dreadful defending and sloppy all round from #MUFC. Visitors far too casual on and off the ball.
Looking like a famous night for Como.
PSG confirm Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ruptured the ACL in his right knee during yesterday's win against Barcelona. He will undergo surgery in the coming days.🏥

🗣️ A FIFA spokesperson confirms UEFA will get replies to their 42 questions: “The FIFA Governance Regulations state that Council meetings and their associated documentation are confidential.
“While FIFA intends to reply to questions submitted by its Council members it has no intention of breaching confidentiality by commenting on internal communication and/or documentation to media.
"FIFA considers respect for these Regulations to be a function of respect for the Council itself and for its individual members. FIFA will always maintain this respect and will not be drawn into any exchange with any third parties that undermines this.”
