Had something similar happen. Drove to work at 4am in white out conditions. Showed up to work and they said "we're waiting for the boss to close, but he won't come in till 8am" which meant he was asleep, unaware of the weather conditions Finally got sent home at 11:30am

Reminds me of the time my boss forced a young impressionable me to drive to work during a snow ban. 30 minutes from the City to Amherst in white out conditions. 15 min after I sit down “hey guys we’re sending everybody home before anyone gets stranded here.” I moved out of NYS entirely less than 2 years later.
