I try to be optimistic but this is disgraceful. The vehicles tracking on the 471 range between 24 and 54 minutes late… 24 minutes is the LEAST late. I feel nothing less than despair for the people who need to rely on these services.

A silver lining to my cancelled train at Glazebrook is I got a laugh out of the help point playing some distorted Basement Jaxx and then sending me to voicemail. 😂 Thankfully the team at Northern arranged for another train to stop, saving me being stuck there for 2 hours. 😁

Ended up having a bit of a nightmare with a handful of delays, cancellations and a low battery so forgot to do more posts! Home now, here’s some photos of the rest of my outing. Only ticked off 4 more stations in the end, over the span of 5-6 hours. 😭

Ticked off Salford Central before a quick hop to Salford Crescent right after (though I’ve already visited the latter before). Saw an MPV come through, my first time seeing one up close in the 2026 leaf fall season. 😄

Good morning, I’m out an about today on the Greater Manchester Multi-modal ranger! An 802 has delivered me into Manchester from Liverpool, let’s see where I end up. 😁

This morning Go North West took over bus operations on the Wirral so I had a quick ride to see how they are. They’re decent, I’ll miss the mixed fleet of Stagecoach which added a bit of excitement for what would be allocated, but these get the job done and have nice seats. 👍

Some highlights from my outing yesterday around the Wirral before the start of franchising today. Will miss Stagecoach, Arriva not so much. Also took the last ever full service 38A last night, end of an era. I can go back to only liking trains now. 😂

Ended the outing with seeing some Class 37s and a Class 70 at Chester. 😁

Quick trip onboard an ex-WMR 323 takes me back from Wavertree to Liverpool. Got one or two more things to go see before the day is done!

I’ve had quite the sprinter-centric morning/early afternoon today! I’ve offset it by the fact I’m sat on a 331 as I speak, but hopefully should be trading for a 323 within 10 minutes or so to head to my next destination. 😁

While at James St on Platform 2 I decided to try and re-create a photo that was taken almost 10 years ago. Quite happy with the result. 😁

Had a quick trip up to St Helens and back to have a ride on a Class 397 followed by a Class 323! Back in Liverpool now… let’s see where to go next. 😁

Lucky catch; another Stagecoach Gold Scania working service 1 between Chester and Liverpool drops me off in the city from Birkenhead. Time for some trains. 😁

Morning! Just out and about today, got some trains to travel on but first I’ve got to make the most of these Stagecoach Gold Scanias before they go on the 25th. Been a while since I’ve really documented my travels here so trying to be more active again.

Time for a job update! First interview sadly didn't work out, however, my second interview with another TOC has been successful and I'm now in the talent pool for the role of Cleaning Operative. Hopefully I get a start date soon, either way, very exciting... 👀🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Currently watching The Celebrity Traitors, and I do wonder. Which side do you support when you watch? For some reason I always root for the traitors. 😂

In August, I appeared on ITV News on A-Level results day talking about my attempts to enter the railway industry... Well... tomorrow I'm happy to say I have my first in-person interview with a TOC! Quite nervous but I'm hopeful all will go well. 🤞 (And another on Friday!) 😁
