This causes goosebumps in my soul. How can one ignore this? These are the children of a land that is known as one of the richest areas in terms of natural resources. Today, they are victims of nature, literally. #OccupiedBalochistan Read Thread 👇 – at Bahrain

Dr Naseem Baloch Meets UN Committee Members, Calls for Pakistan to Be Held Accountable Thursday, 5 November 2026 | #BNMChairman thebnm.org/chairperson/29002… Dr Naseem Baloch, Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), raised serious human rights violations in Balochistan with members of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) during Pakistan’s second periodic review. He called on the Committee to hold Pakistan accountable for failing to meet its international obligations. He also urged the United Nations to set up a dedicated mechanism to investigate and monitor human rights violations in Balochistan, and to give the Baloch nation a formal platform where its voice can be heard directly. Dr Naseem Baloch met Committee members Michael Windfuhr and Julieta Rossi and told them about enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, collective punishment, and the denial of basic economic, social and cultural rights to the Baloch nation. He said these conditions cannot be separated from Pakistan’s systematic repression of the Baloch nation. Describing enforced disappearances and collective punishment in detail, he said thousands of Baloch families have lived through this ordeal, and its effects reach far beyond the direct victims. Families lose their breadwinners, children lose their chance at an education, and entire households are pushed into poverty. He also raised concern over the imprisonment of Baloch human rights defenders, including Dr Mahrang Baloch and other leaders of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). He cited the sentences handed to Imaan Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali Chattha as an example of how harshly peaceful people who speak up for Baloch rights are punished. Citing Article 1 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), Dr Naseem Baloch reminded the Committee that all peoples have the right to self-determination, including the right to freely dispose of their natural wealth and resources. He also referred to Articles 11, 12 and 13, which protect the rights to an adequate standard of living, health and education. Challenging Pakistan’s claim to be meeting these obligations, he asked: “How can Pakistan claim compliance while these rights are being denied in Balochistan?” He told Committee members: “We are not asking for sympathy. We are demanding justice, accountability and our fundamental rights.” Dr Naseem Baloch also attended the Committee’s formal review session, where a Pakistani delegation of about 12 representatives appeared to answer questions on the country’s implementation of the Covenant. During the session, Julieta Rossi repeatedly asked about the situation in Balochistan, and Michael Windfuhr also raised issues concerning the region. Their questions made Balochistan part of the Committee’s formal review of Pakistan. At the end of the session, Dr Naseem Baloch gave further dossiers to the Committee Chair and to members L. E. Perez and Fiorio Vaesken. The dossiers set out human rights violations in Balochistan and what they mean under the Covenant. Fiorio Vaesken showed particular interest in the documents. He reviewed them himself, pointed out several issues that fall within the Committee’s mandate, and assured Dr Naseem Baloch that he would raise these matters before the Committee the next day.

I strongly condemn the sentencing of Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in a sham case. Crushing the dissent and activists is neither democratic nor justifiable. Imaan has always stood with the oppressed communities of the country and raised her voice for the needed people. Such verdicts expose the disturbing state of justice in Pakistan, where those who stand up for the vulnerable are punished instead of protected. Every such judgment further erodes public faith in the judiciary and reinforces a painful reality that justice is becoming a distant promise in Pakistan. The state and judiciary should build the trust of masses with providing justice. #ReleaseImaanAndHadi

My sister Mahrang Baloch writes from prison for @HRF “My greatest concern has never been simply when I will walk out of this prison. It is when families across Balochistan will no longer have to search for their disappeared loved ones, when young people will be able to express their political beliefs without fear, and when the demand for justice will no longer be treated as a crime.” nitter.gq/HRF/status/21143564556… #ReleaseDrMahrangBaloch
Today, HRF shines a light on human rights defender Dr. Mahrang Baloch. She is serving two life sentences in Pakistan for her advocacy on behalf of the Baloch minority, who have faced enforced disappearances, torture, and killing. Writing from prison, Mahrang describes her work as both deeply personal and collective: “I do not consider my own suffering separate from the suffering of my people. My greatest concern has never been simply when I will walk out of this prison. It is when families across Balochistan will no longer have to search for their disappeared loved ones, when young people will be able to express their political beliefs without fear, and when the demand for justice will no longer be treated as a crime.” HRF demands that Pakistan release Mahrang Baloch and echoes her vision for a society where all people can live freely, without fear: “I remain convinced that fear cannot be the permanent foundation of any society. Prisons may confine individuals, but they cannot permanently contain the desire for freedom, dignity, and justice.” Learn more → ow.ly/J7mf5100HCR #DispatchesfromDetention #MahrangBaloch

“The central focus of the meetings was Pakistan’s GSP+ status. The delegation called on European representatives to support the revocation of Pakistan’s preferential trade privileges, arguing that a country involved in widespread enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, collective punishment and other serious human rights violations should not continue receiving trade benefits without proper accountability. The delegation also handed over a detailed dossier documenting human rights concerns in #Balochistan and Pakistan’s non-compliance with the international conventions linked to the EU’s GSP+ scheme. For the past two years, BNM’s Foreign Department has carried out an extensive diplomatic campaign challenging Pakistan’s GSP+ privileges. Through meetings with European representatives, formal submissions, documented evidence and sustained diplomatic engagement, BNM has made important progress in bringing Balochistan’s human rights situation to the attention of European policymakers.” @annastrolenberg @Trade_EU @EU_today
BNM Delegation Meets MEPs in The Hague, Intensifies Campaign to Revoke Pakistan’s GSP+ Status Ahead of 2027 Review #BNMGlobalCampaigns , #BNMForeignDepartment | Sunday, October 25, 2026 thebnm.org/foreign-departmen… A delegation of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), working under the Foreign Department’s GSP+ Accountability Team, held important meetings with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in The Hague on 23 October 2026, stepping up its campaign for the revocation of Pakistan’s GSP+ trade status ahead of the review expected in January 2027. The meetings took place during the launch event of the Union of European Federalists (UEF) Netherlands, held at Europa Experience in The Hague under the theme “Global Challenges We’re Facing Together.” During the event, the BNM delegation met with MEPs Anna Strolenberg and Raquel García Hermida-van der Walle, as well as Esther Láinez, President of the Young European Federalists (JEF) Netherlands. The delegation briefed European representatives on the human rights situation in Balochistan, the Baloch national struggle for freedom and self-determination, and Pakistan’s failure to uphold its international human rights commitments. The central focus of the meetings was Pakistan’s GSP+ status. The delegation called on European representatives to support the revocation of Pakistan’s preferential trade privileges, arguing that a country involved in widespread enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, collective punishment and other serious human rights violations should not continue receiving trade benefits without proper accountability. The delegation also handed over a detailed dossier documenting human rights concerns in Balochistan and Pakistan’s non-compliance with the international conventions linked to the EU’s GSP+ scheme. Through meetings with European representatives, formal submissions, documented evidence and sustained diplomatic engagement, BNM has made important progress in bringing Balochistan’s human rights situation to the attention of European policymakers. With Pakistan’s GSP+ review expected in January 2027, BNM considers this a crucial period for its diplomatic efforts. The party hopes that the European Union will seriously consider its proposals, evidence and submissions when reviewing Pakistan’s compliance with the conditions of the scheme. BNM believes that the European Union must remain committed to the human rights principles that underpin its trade policies. Trade preferences should not become a shield against accountability for serious human rights violations. BNM’s Foreign Department will continue its diplomatic engagement with European institutions and policymakers, pressing for the revocation of Pakistan’s GSP+ status and ensuring that the human rights situation in Balochistan remains part of the EU’s discussions on trade and accountability.

Paank strongly condemns the reported enforced disappearance of four Baloch men, including two 17-year-old students, allegedly by Pakistan's Frontier Corps (FC) during a military raid in Gubord village, Mand, on 24 October 2026, at approximately 2:00 AM. According to local reports, FC personnel raided several homes, intimidated women and children, conducted searches, and allegedly looted cash, gold, and household belongings before forcibly taking four individuals to undisclosed locations. The four reported victims are: 1. Sameer Nasir Baloch, 17, son of Nasir Baloch, a student. 2. Sagheer Baloch, 30, son of Sowal Muhammad, a farmer. 3. Zaheer Baloch, 27, son of Sowal Muhammad, a tractor driver. 4. Waseem Baloch, 17, son of Abdul Sattar, a student. All four are residents of Gubord, Mand, and were taken from their homes by FC personnel at approximately 2:00 AM on 24 October 2026. Their whereabouts remain unknown according to the information received. Paank expresses grave concern over these allegations, particularly the detention of two minors, and the reported mistreatment of women and children during the raids. If confirmed, these acts constitute serious human rights violations and may amount to enforced disappearance under international human rights law. Paank calls on Pakistani authorities to immediately disclose the whereabouts of all four individuals, ensure their safety, release them unless promptly charged with a recognizable criminal offence, and conduct an independent and impartial investigation into the reported raids, ill-treatment, and looting. The continued practice of enforced disappearances in Balochistan demands urgent international attention, accountability, and an end to impunity. #EndEnforcedDisappearances
