@POTUS @realDonaldTrump Calling President Obama stupid is a pretty extraordinary statement coming from you. Perhaps we should review a few things about the man you’re insulting. President Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, became the first Black president of the Harvard Law Review, taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago, served in the Illinois Senate and the United States Senate, and was elected president twice. He inherited the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, helped rescue the American automobile industry, and presided over an economic recovery that produced 11.6 million net new jobs and 76 consecutive months of job growth. Unemployment fell from its 10% recession peak to 4.7% when he left office. He signed the Affordable Care Act, expanding health insurance to approximately 20 million additional adults, protecting Americans with preexisting conditions, and allowing children to remain on their parents’ insurance until age 26. He enacted Wall Street reforms, established the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, expanded Pell Grants, reformed student loans, strengthened consumer protections, and repealed Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. He authorized the operation that killed Osama bin Laden, negotiated the JCPOA that placed verifiable restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program, helped negotiate the Paris Climate Agreement, and restored diplomatic relations with Cuba. And while President Obama negotiated an agreement to constrain Iran’s nuclear activities without starting another war, you tore it up and eventually launched an extraordinarily costly war with Iran. President Obama has an extensive record of academic achievement, public service, legislation, economic recovery, and diplomacy. You can disagree with his policies, but pretending he lacks intelligence only invites Americans to compare his accomplishments with yours. And considering that you’re currently preoccupied with decorating the White House in gold while Americans struggle with rising prices, I’m not sure that’s a comparison you really want to encourage. Oh, and he won a Nobel Peace Prize. He's also won three Emmys. How many did the apprentice win? Oh, that's right, none.
