Exactly this. Valve has held gaming back for years by locking developers’ PC games into Steamworks’ social walled garden where players can’t talk to other players on iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or even other PC stores.

Rather funny how many in the "Aiming Community" later get caught using cheats.
Not only did RileyCS get exposed but a a user defending him that lead an "aim community" discord server in the past was caught using cheats as well.

WE ARE DELAYING @EmbervilleGame Early Access UNTIL JANUARY 7th, 2026!
We apologize for the delay in this (we were supposed to release into EA TOMORROW!) but we've decided that we need just a bit more time to cook the EA.
We got exceptionally close to our quality targets but there are just a few issues we need 100% fixed and solid before we turn this project over to you guys.
The demo will be staying up and we plan to give it some updates between now and then as well!
Thanks for understand, guys. We have a lot of plates spinning behind the scenes and we would have liked to have gotten this announcement out earlier! Lessons learned on many fronts.
