Let’s make #ImmigrationReform a priority
🔥 Bob Dole’s immigration message thirty years ago and Adam Hamilton’s position today share a common foundation: enforce immigration laws, respect human dignity and bring Americans together. 🇺🇸
Accepting the Republican presidential nomination, Dole affirmed America’s right to control its borders and opposed unlawful immigration. He also said a Mexican family arriving legally that morning had the same right to the American Dream as descendants of the Founding Fathers.
Dole insisted that the Republican Party welcome citizens of every race and religion. To those who rejected that principle, he declared that the exits were clearly marked. He stood with the party of Lincoln, without compromise on inclusion.
Hamilton’s own words reflect that balance:
“Kansans expect our immigration laws to be enforced. But we also expect each person to be treated with dignity and respect.”
His statement criticized both the Biden’s administration handling of the border and the disruption caused by ICE operations in southwest Kansas under Trump. He described the consequences for families, schools, businesses and agriculture, then called for lasting, bipartisan immigration reform.
“Neither party has been able to solve this on their own. It’s past time Washington ended the chaos and actually worked together to solve problems for Kansas families.”
That willingness to work across party lines also echoes Dole, who said that “honorable compromise is no sin” and described it as protection against absolutism and intolerance.
Last night near Wichita, Trump described millions of migrants as “totally incompatible with the West,” mocked an American Muslim candidate’s name and disparaged American immigrants from Somalia as arriving with “low IQs and no money.”
Marshall portrayed France’s unrest as a consequence of immigration policies and capitulation to “radical Islam,” warning that America could burn next. He offered no evidence establishing that explanation. French authorities categorically deny those sentiments. Reuters described protests over living costs and underfunded public services that descended into rioting and looting.
That rhetoric encourages Americans to view entire communities with suspicion. Dole warned against dividing us into factions.
Remembering World War II, he described the blood of immigrants’ sons and enslaved people’s grandsons as equally American. Shared sacrifice transcended ancestry. He asked Americans to defend that unity against the urge to divide.
Dole also emphasized equal opportunity and equal protection under the Constitution. Immigrants within this country have constitutional protections, including due process and equal protection. Enforcing immigration laws does not erase those safeguards.
A vote for Adam Hamilton is a vote for the ideals and vision Senator Dole shared with the nation: lawful immigration, human dignity, equal opportunity and a country united across our differences.
A vote for Roger Marshall rewards the politics of division that Dole warned against. Dole firmly told those holding that exclusionary outlook to leave the party of Lincoln that night.

Enough. The world should not have to beg us not to be monsters. Vote to rein in this leadership. Vote for checks and balances. Vote for accountability. Vote for the rule of law. Vote for democracy.
You know things are bad when Ukrainian families from Kyiv are begging the citizens of the United States to vote Blue in the Midterms to save their lives because they know that Trump is a Dictator that stands with Russia and cares nothing about them. They say this isn’t who America is and I think most of us agree with them.

America held elections for centuries. Then…a lifelong con artist lost one, screamed RIGGED, and millions of people decided democracy was broken instead of considering that the asshole simply LOST.

Like Gov Kelly I’ve know Ty since he was groomed by Susan Wagle for the Koch’s when he 1st ran for the KS House. He’s an ALEC acolyte who will smile in your face while pushing big donor agendas and ruthlessly rising to his current position.

One of the reasons Kansans turned on Sam Brownback was because he lied to us about the economy we were living through. He said our public schools were fine while we saw rural schools close and schools switch to a 4 day week. He said we were thriving while the taxes on our house and on our food went up. We saw through Brownback and the backlash was fierce. Roger Marshall will meet the same fate.

Listen to ben the Art of dividing us
🔥 BEN MEISELAS ERUPTS: The Cheesecake Factory faux outrage is the PERFECT example of how the propaganda machine works.
These people have spent DECADES studying how to brainwash Americans, divide us, and pit us against each other so the oligarchs can get richer, steal our healthcare, send our kids to endless wars, and buy themselves more yachts and private jets.
This isn't an accident. It's a calculated, multibillion-dollar propaganda machine designed to keep Americans fighting each other while the people at the top feast on our flesh.

We need to talk for a minute, because things could fall apart next week.
I know a lot of Dems all around the country are half or higher intoxicated with the how things will be better when we win back control of the Senate and the House on Nov 3, but I also know we were stumbling drunk on our own endorphins on what should have been the eve of the election of Hillary Clinton.
A little bit of psychological and practical prep now can do a lot to reduce the initial shock and the freeze response on Nov 4th this year, if things go badly. If we need to shift into Long-Term Resistance mode, instead of Victory mode, we can’t afford a long lag while we dwell and wallow.
So, just a handful of things we can do:
• Visualize and absorb the potential negative outcome. Taking a little time to think about how you will be running on a mix of grief, anger, and autopilot for a while, which will help you avoid being thrown off when they hijack your brain.
• Flip the switch in your head. As soon as (and every time) you switch from thinking “Oh my god, we’re doomed; all is lost” or “the world is broken; America is unsavable” or so on, and instead think “OK, what’s next?” or “What can I do to soften the damage,” you switch from the emotional overload of the amygdala and into the frontal cortex. That halts the flood of systemic stress chemicals and opens the tap on neurotransmitters that promote stability, focus, and logical processing.
• Change your framework from victim “how long until I/we can heal from this disaster” and instead anchor around the idea of anti-fragility. That’s the powerful quality of things that are actually made stronger and more resilient by stress or overload. Think of ways we already rock at that, like building muscle by constant overload and building immunity through exposure to invaders and vaccines.
• Put together a list of small tasks and processes so you can stay in motion even when you are running in a dampened state. Maybe that means meeting and sending out notes of support with people in your network to be supportive of each other. Maybe that is putting a timeline together so you are already thinking about milestones to the next election and small wins you could achieve to get you on the way. Whatever fits with your skillset and is likely to motivate you a little bit. Make them small at first—easy to do even if you are in a crummy mood or tired or full of lame excuses not to do it. Actions of any size are huge in terms of resilience and recovery.
I know from years of teaching at all grade levels that the vast majority of you will not take this to heart any more than reminders not to start your term paper the week before it is due, but for those that this does help—each one means one more anchor that others can look to and rally around if things veer toward dystopia.

Jesus places no barriers between himself and the people. He is always attentive, always present, never distracted. And his word is never abstract. He continually seeks to direct everyone’s heart and mind toward the true light of the Father’s love and mercy—a love and mercy directed simply toward the good life of all. No one is excluded. Everyone’s life is worthy of being lived to the fullest.
