10 years ago @CommonsWEC published a report on sexual assault in schools. 5500 sexual assaults & 300 rapes over 3 years. Recommendations were based on PHSE/SRE, porn, sexting. *Nothing* about single sex spaces, so the terrifying levels of assault were ignored in these designs 1/
The judge "found that “sanitary accommodation” meant more than simply a lockable lavatory cubicle, and included the wider space, including nearby wash basins."
This is key. Girls should not be expected to use toilets with boys hanging around outside.

This review, that suggests that Autism and ADHD are overdiagnosed in children and young people (despite there being no increase at a population level) was headed by Prof Peter Fonagy.
Prof Fonagy is on the oversight board of the Pathways Trial, prescribing puberty blockers to children aged 11 -16. This cohort of children contain a *significant* number with either a diagnosis of ASD or ADHD or enough traits to warrant further investigation.
Autism is one of the (many) significant safeguarding risks attached to the trial. We would hate to think there were people attached to the trial, who would consider it fortuitous to believe there were fewer autistic children at risk than there actually are.

October 7, 2023 crossed a new line in terrorism. It was face to face, deliberate, unimaginable brutality targeting children, babies, parents, grandparents, whole families in their own homes. And young people dancing at a music festival.
I'm not sure how any country recovers from the trauma of that. But if any country can it's Israel. I'm in awe of the courage of Jewish people everywhere. I will never forget and I will always support this amazing people and their right to live in peace in their ancestral homeland.
Three years since October 7, 2023.
We remember the lives stolen by Palestinian Hamas. We honor the heroes. We carry the scars.
And still, we stand.

"A survivor who was in prostitution for 19 years from when she was 18 says prostitution: “has this way of stealing all the dreams, goals and beautiful essence out of a woman. During my years in it, I didn’t meet one woman who enjoyed what she was doing. Everyone was trying to get out.”
But she did manage to get out. She lives in Australia, where the sex trade is decriminalised in some states. She tells how, when she was trying to get out, she kept thinking: “It’s legal so it can’t be that bad.” So she told herself to handle it and kept on, “despite that it was a life of utter misery.”
No-one warned her what it would be like and how it would affect her over time. She has spoken in schools, because she wants young people to know the truth about prostitution and how damaging it is to women’s well-being."

What’s missed in all these conversations about whether something is’real’ or overdiagnosed, is that lack of support for kids with ADHD can lead to *years* of missed education, setting them back hugely from their peers.
When you share a journey with ADHD or autism you fight tooth & nail with education & local government professionals to secure ANY support.
Always an argument of “not bad enough” & an expense rather than an investment in some one’s potential.
