High school athletics is fascinating because the same parent who demands accountability from coaches will explain why their child shouldn't have consequences for missing three practices.
Accountability is apparently a one-way street.

Packing a “smaller” gym > having a giant gym that looks empty even when you have a good crowd
Duquesne arena is honestly one of the coolest ones I’ve seen anywhere
Fits only 3500 but has elite suites, seats tight to the floor, beautiful modern screen & signage all over & right in the city with the Pittsburgh skyline visible out the back windows.

A good high school basketball team doesn't need 5 scorers.
It needs a floor general, a lockdown defender, and somebody who knows their job is to rebound everything in sight.
Roles win games. Superstars are built out of teams that commit to those roles.
