Over at FanGraphs Audio, @_Ben_Clemens is doing a really cool thing where he's interviewing FanGraphs staff to share our "how I got here" stories. It's now been 14 years since I launched MLBDepthCharts, so I had to think way back to describe how and why it all started.

Teams have until 11/17 to decide which eligible players they'll protect by adding them to the 40-man roster ahead of a potential Rule 5 draft.

Players not on the 40-man with "R5" in the "Options or R5 Status" column are eligible (my unofficial count).
Players who have previously been on a 40-man roster, and are currently not (white background in name column), are also eligible for the draft. They show a number of options in the "Options or R5 Status" column (0, 1, 2, 3, n/a). Roddery Muñoz is an example from last year's draft.

The deadline is tomorrow.
Teams/players still have a few days to decide on contract options for 2027. As these decisions are announced, they'll be either removed from the FA tracker (option exercised/opt-out not exercised) or the option details are removed if they become a FA.
