BREAKING: The average cost of a family’s annual health insurance premium in the US is up +$1,303 YoY, or +5%, to a record $28,303. This marks the 4th consecutive annual increase of at least +$1,300. Over this period, the average annual premium for family coverage has surged +$5,884, or +26%. To put this into perspective, CPI inflation has risen +13% over the same period, or half as much. Since 1999, the average health insurance premium for a family has soared +$22,494, or +387%. This represents an average annual growth rate of +6.1%, well above CPI inflation at +2.6% over the same period. Health insurance has never been more expensive.

Today, the calendar makes a right triangle, for the last time this century. This Saturday is October 24, 2026. Write it as 10/24/26 or 24/10/26, and the same beautiful relationship appears: 10² + 24² = 26² 100 + 576 = 676 But here’s what makes today special. There are infinitely many Pythagorean triples. Only a handful fit our calendar. Using the rule month² + day² = (last two digits of the year)², the month cannot exceed 12, and the day cannot exceed 31. Those small limits leave exactly 12 qualifying dates in this century. Today is the last. The next will be March 4, 2105: 3² + 4² = 5² That is a wait of more than 78 years. An infinite family of triangles. Just twelve appearances on a century’s calendar. Happy Pythagorean Triple Day.

Do you remember the popular Whole Home Repairs program that created an affordable path for families to keep their homes safe, dry and warm? It is no longer funded because the @PASenateGOP thinks 'the market' should just build cheaper homes. Vote out the callous monsters.

JUST IN: A hot inflation report. Inflation jumped back up to 3.7% (y/y) in September, the highest rate since May. The spike was largely driven by rising gas and diesel prices. Higher airfares and used car prices also triggered the 0.6% monthly gain (biggest since May). Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, climbed to 2.6% -->This was worse than expected and up from 2.4% in August. The big problem = Inflation rose 3.7% in the past year, wiping out 3% average wage gains.

We are going to expand our house majority and flip the state Senate. Why? Great candidates and voters are tired of higher prices and Trump. Minimum Wage increase coming!

This November, Chris Thomas is going to help Democrats flip the State Senate for the first time in three decades — and deliver the trifecta we need to get even more stuff done. Montco, thanks for closing out our Weekend of Action with the energy we need to win. 44 days to go.

Houston, we have a problem. Food and energy prices are exploding higher. The longer the Iran War drags on, the more these price increases will ripple through the economy. And the harder inflation will be to contain. Video: youtube.com/watch?v=9ROP49Ca…
