Wakenya na kununua propaganda wako unbeatable! Wakili Abshir's disappearance is a serious matter that deserves a thorough and impartial investigation. But why is everyone rushing to implicate NIS without first establishing the facts? NIS is an intelligence agency, not a police force. Its mandate is intelligence gathering, analysis and advising the government on national security. It has no powers of arrest and does not operate police detention cells. Allegations must be supported by verifiable evidence, not blogger-driven speculation. Nobody should trivialise allegations of abduction or disappearance. Every Kenyan has a constitutional right to personal liberty, due process and protection under the law. But we must also stop the dangerous habit of blaming NIS for every security-related incident without evidence. If the individuals were held in police custody, let ATPU and DCI explain who arrested them, where they were detained and what happened thereafter. We must demand accountability, but accountability must be anchored in facts, not propaganda.
