Today, I welcomed Mayor Jason Utitofon Jackson of Islington, UK, and his family to Government House, Uyo.
Mayor Jackson, a proud son of Ika LGA, has achieved something truly remarkable, showing our young people that with focus and passion, there are no limits to what they can achieve. His story is a beacon of hope and a reminder that Akwa Ibomites can excel anywhere in the world.
I encouraged him to partner with us on programs that will expose children from our rural communities to opportunities abroad, inspiring them to dream bigger. We are incredibly proud of him and will continue to celebrate and support Akwa Ibom indigenes who make a global impact.

Today, my wife, Unoma and I, proudly received in courtesy, an Akwa Ibom son; The Mayor of Islington, Cllr Jason Utitofon Jackson and his family in Abuja.
Jackson was born in Nigeria and grew up in Hackney, East London, where he studied at City and Islington College.
I had the pleasure of opening the new @NLondonHospice charity shop on Upper Street, a brilliant space supporting the charity's work in end-of-life care.

This morning, I had the pleasure of joining Duncombe Primary’s Fathers and Male Carers Coffee Morning. As a father, it meant a lot to connect with others navigating fatherhood in Islington. Let’s keep building spaces where men can talk, share, and feel supported.

Congratulations to my bro @JasonUJackson, the new Mayor of Islington. I have known Jason for almost 15 years; in that time he has worked really hard to establish himself as a voice to be reckoned with. This is progress for the British Nigerian community in England 🏴 ❤️🎉
