Lane Hutson is making it look very easy in his first NHL season.
Is the Calder Trophy in his future? 🤔

"Making America Great Again" by making the world hate us and not buy from us.
This is American liquor, produced in Red States, that has been ordered to be taken off the shelves across Ontario.

BREAKING: Russia might be devastated! It looks like Europe is stepping up in a major way, potentially committing $732 billion in additional aid to Ukraine—nearly 2.5 times the total global support Ukraine has received since the war began.
If this happens, it would deal a crippling blow to Russia’s war efforts, significantly strengthening Ukraine’s defenses. Unlike Trump, who appears eager to accommodate Putin, European leaders recognize the stakes and are standing firmly for democracy and sovereignty.

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is a powerful and incredibly moving film that I can’t recommend enough. See it in theatres on September 21st and 25th in theatres. #ChristopherReeveStory

Here’s a good reminder of what addiction looks like for me and what recovery looks like for me today. I don’t ever want to go back there and this is a good reminder for me. Please pick up the phone and ask for help if you’re struggling. I did it and you can too

I hope the survivor of the 2018 alleged sexual abuse finds justice. And most importantly peace and healing.
Sadly, sexual abuse is still very rampant in society and there are many who suffer in silence and never get justice. Hopefully that changes in the future.

Great news for the hockey community today. Congratulations and thank you to all of you who made your voices heard in support of LGBTQ+ inclusion in hockey- especially the courageous Travis Dermott.

This decision has stripped clubs of a powerful community outreach tool and removed meaningful support for Special Initiatives, all to protect a select few who do not want to answer any questions about their choices. I hope the NHL reconsiders in order to remain a leader in DEI.
ALT I am deeply disappointed in the NHL’s decision to ban on-ice support for community causes. The NHL has been an enthusiastic, invaluable supporter of a number of important causes and groups – to name just a few; Indigenous peoples, first responders, military heroes, cancer survivors, women in hockey, victims of civic disasters, people of color, and, of course, the LGBTQ+ community. This new league policy strips clubs and players of one of the most important and visible ways of supporting causes they care about. Let’s be clear: this is not inclusion or progress. This decision does not grow the game, and does not make our fans feel welcome. Fans look to teams and the league to show they are welcome, and this directive closes a door that’s been open for the last decade. We will not lose the incredible progress we’ve made in inclusion over the last decade, and we are counting on the League for continued support and leadership in this area. -Brian Burke

It is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Throughout the day, I will be sharing the history of various residential schools in Canada.
Beauval Indian Residential School:
Located near Beauval, Saskatchewan, this school operated from 1895 to 1983.
In 1927, a fire tore through the school. At the time there were 18 girls and 19 boys in the school. All 19 boys died in the fire. One nun was also killed.
In 1932, a new brick school was built through a $75,000 grant from the federal government.
In 1937, a flu epidemic hit the school, killing 20 students at the school.
After the school closed in 1983, it became the Meadow Lake Tribal Council's Education Centre. That closed in 1995 and the main school building was demolished.
