But thinking back on all this, another question comes to mind.
What if markets haven't just overestimated AI's future revenues, but also massively underestimated the economic cost of securing it?
Look at the recent $6 billion Binance hack. Now imagine AI agents making cyberattacks faster, cheaper and more scalable.
We're pouring hundreds of billions into AI, but what if the cost of defending the financial system and businesses against its potential misuse is far greater than anyone expects?
Especially with the economic cycle already rolling over, couldn't this become another major risk that markets haven't really priced in? 🤔🤔

What if what Hugo described back in May is already being built?
I mean Flare's latest Ethereum Relay deployment explicitly references fee exempt DVN addresses.
Just a feeling but, could this be an early step toward a Layerzero DVN secured by Flare's consensus? 🤔

Imagine if @LayerZero_Core had a DVN that was an entire L1. All 80-100 validators of the L1 contributing via consensus. Add in more DVNs on top if you want.
Nothing comes close to that level of safety. Certainly not CC(I)P with its measly 16 validators.
Just a thought.

With global macro weakness and the hacker still having around 2billion of assets that could be sold, we suggest reducing leverage.
If you have leverage in any vault protocol I suggest you top up collateral before you go to bed.
I'm sitting here, calmly sipping my beer and eating my chips, confident in my crypto investments, watching the market go wild... you can go as low as you want, I won't. I believe in what I've invested in.

JUST IN🚨🚨🚨 Flare flare-networks:native is now on the ripple:native Ledger Foundation's recommended validator list.
The XRPL Foundation announced it today.
Flare says servers following the @XRPLF list now count Flare's votes on new ledgers and amendments.
So Flare isn't just building around ripple:native anymore.
It now has a voice in how the XRP Ledger agrees on ledgers and upgrades.
In the same update, XRPLF removed Anodos from the list at Anodos's own request, since Anodos is shutting down its validator at the end of the month.
Should the teams building XRP products be the ones helping vote on its upgrades?
Why is it taking Ripple and Flare so long to build their financial ecosystem?
Because a blockchain alone doesn't create a credit market. You need an economic cycle where capital finds a purpose, circulates, comes back, and can be deployed again. 🧵
And where does FLR fit in?
Smart Accounts, FAssets, and Flare's data protocols can help enable these operations.
FIP-16 aims to better connect network activity with value capture.
But Morpho lending interest and RLUSD payments don't automatically generate revenue for Flare.
