🚨🚨🚨 Big news, everyone!!
The Liberals upgraded their new bill’s name from “Building Canada” to “Building Canada Strong.”
Because apparently, after years of delays and uncertainty, what businesses really needed was one more 250-page piece of federal legislation.
Let’s be serious. If Ottawa wants more investment and faster projects, the real test is whether it cuts duplication, speeds up approvals, and moves toward one project, one review.
A stronger title does not build a stronger economy.
My heart goes out to these steel workers & their families.
It raises many questions on current and past federal decisions.
Why are the Carney Liberals permitting billions of taxpayer dollars to finance Chinese steel & shipbuilding jobs instead of supporting Canadian workers?
My heart goes out to the hundreds of Stelco steel workers and their families
Thank you @CTVNews for the interview.

Calling on the Minister of Public Safety to explain to Canadians how this was allowed to happen, and what he will do to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
This woman, who had reportedly worked at both Statistics Canada and the Canadian Space Agency, was ultimately apprehended by Belgian law enforcement on a charge of espionage.
Canadians deserve to know how this was allowed to happen.

Carney Continues to Fail Our Lumber Workers
July 15, 2026
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Prince George, BC – Bob Zimmer, Conservative Member of Parliament for Prince George—Peace River—Northern Rockies, and Todd Doherty, Conservative Member of Parliament for Cariboo—Prince George, released the following statement on the Northwood Pulp Mill closure:
“This week’s announcement of yet another closure in Canada’s lumber sector, this time affecting the 300 employees at the Northwood Pulp Mill in Prince George, is devastating news for the workers and their families.
“As the mill winds down production, they will be left wondering how to keep their roof over their heads, how to keep their fridges stocked with food and how they’re going to register their kids for hockey this fall.
“In Northern BC, forestry is more than just another sector of the economy. These jobs helped support entire communities, and when a mill closes, everyone – from truck drivers, logging contractors and mechanics to restaurants, retailers and small businesses – across the region will be feeling the impact.
“Canada’s forestry industry has supported hundreds of thousands of jobs, generated billions of dollars for our economy, and supplies our country with essential goods from homes and furniture to shipping boxes and paper.
“The Northwood Pulp Mill closure will be another profound loss for the sector, with one fewer buyer for Canadian lumber harvested by our forestry workers. It also highlights Carney’s continued failure to secure a deal with the Americans, despite promising one for our workers over a year and a half ago.
“Prime Minister Stephen Harper was able to negotiate an end to, and refund of, American softwood lumber tariffs within 79 days of becoming Prime Minister. Continuing a ‘wait and see’ approach to negotiations after 11 years of failing to secure a deal on lumber only increases uncertainty for the industry and job losses for our workers.
“While Conservatives have called for a deal that would end America’s softwood lumber tariffs, Carney has repeatedly conceded our leverage without getting anything in return. That’s despite tariffs and duties on Canadian softwood having tripled to 45 per cent since he became Prime Minister.
“It’s time to turn rhetoric into reality and deliver by building leverage and unleashing our resources to rebuild our industrial base, attract investment and confront US tariffs.
That’s how we’ll defend Canadian workers and build our strength for an unbreakable Canada.”

Very sad. Growing up, forestry fed my family. Heartbreaking to hear of another blow to workers in the forestry industry.
Today is a difficult day for Prince George and for the 300 workers along with families, and contractors affected by the closure of Canfor’s Northwood Pulp Mill.
For generations, forestry has put food on the table for thousands of families across northern British Columbia. The men and women who worked at Northwood helped build our communities, support local businesses, and strengthen our region. My thoughts are with every employee and family now facing uncertainty about the future.
The reality is that this closure reflects a combination of challenging international market conditions and a long-term decline in the health of B.C.’s forest sector. While global factors cannot be ignored, successive provincial governments have failed to address the growing challenges facing forestry, and after nearly a decade in power, the BC NDP must accept responsibility for the condition of the industry today.
Communities like Prince George need more than talking points, we need a government with a serious plan to restore competitiveness, improve access to fibre, support investment, and keep good-paying forestry jobs in British Columbia.
Today, however, politics comes second. Our focus should be on the workers, families, and businesses affected by this decision. Prince George has weathered difficult times before, and we will stand together again through this challenge.
Please join me in keeping the Northwood workforce and their families in your thoughts.

Canada built it. Canada paid for it. Then @MarkJCarney handed 50% of the tolls to Washington and hoped no one would notice.
The Prime Minister has negotiated a terrible deal for Canada.
Our people demand answers.

Could this be the next Prime Minister of Canada?
Recently, I’ve been finding myself up all night trying to figure out what the hell is going on in the world and if we're on the verge of World War III…
So, today I’m sitting down with Pierre Poilievre who is the leader of Canada's Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition. He became one of the youngest MPs elected to Canadian parliament and has spent 2 decades fighting for working class people and fair opportunities.
Pierre told me that he’s on a mission to make Canada the freest and most affordable place in the world, and he’s not stopping until that happens.
To give you more context on his background, Pierre was adopted at birth by two school teachers who struggled financially and ended up losing multiple homes which meant that they had to start again from nothing several times throughout his childhood.
That experience shaped what he believes about work, money, and fairness. When speaking about his parents, he told me that they taught him that it doesn’t matter where you come from. It matters what you do.
That belief is now at the centre of everything he’s trying to change.

Salmon is a shared resource, not something the government can gatekeep.
The proposed Liberal policy of rewriting the Salmon Allocation Policy will risk shutting everyday Canadians out of public access fishing.

This is unacceptable. Either Minister McGuinty didn't know, which is failure of leadership, or he did know and is lying to Canadians.
As Minister of National Defence, he is regularly briefed, and has the ability to get briefed as frequently as he requests. This should be his first priority especially when our troops may be in harms way.
It appears that once again the Liberals are changing their stories to cover up their incompetence. I will be holding the Minister to account next week in Parliament.

Mark Carney and the Liberals have had multiple opportunities to inform Canadians on how the Canadian Armed Forces were targeted by Iran in the very early hours of this conflict. Instead of being transparent, they withheld this information for over 11 days.
This is all part and parcel of Carney's multiple flip-flops on Canada's position on Iran.

I was very disappointed to hear Mark Carney’s shrugging of responsibility for keeping Canadians informed about the health of Canadian Armed Forces personnel in the Middle East.
To say ‘I'm not the only spokesperson for the government’ is an admission of his failure, which includes failing to keep Parliament and Canadians informed.
The previous Conservative government provided regular technical briefings to Parliamentarians and media with respect to OPERATION IMPACT in 2014 and 2015.

Mark Carney has no new ideas. Yesterday he flies to the Arctic for a photo op and "announces" for the 3rd time the same NORAD modernization plan Justin Trudeau first announced in 2022.
The Liberals are all talk and no action. Quit re-announcing and finally get something done!
As others have noted and our story spells out, the $35 billion Arctic plan announced by @MarkJCarney is *not* new money - "In 2022, Ottawa announced a C$38.6 billion plan to modernize its defenses and the joint North American Aerospace Defense Command" #cdnpoli

Why did the Liberals send our soldiers out on an Arctic exercise in Alaska without the proper training, planning and equipment? Over 60 soldiers had cold weather injures and some were hospitalized.
Instead of covering up the situation for over month, Mark Carney needs to put our troops first and order an investigation to get to the bottom of how this happened? Will he finally let the sunshine in and come clean at least once?

Mark Carney’s flip-flops on Iran are leaving Canadians confused.
Carney first said he supported U.S. airstrikes, then expresses regret about backing them. Then his government called for a ceasefire, but today said he hasn’t ruled out Canadian military participation alongside the U.S.
Given these numerous contradictions and lack of clarity from Prime Minister Carney and his government, Conservatives call on the government to return to the practice of holding a parliamentary debate before any decision on Canadian military deployment is made.
