Not about tech this time: I recently donated some of my stem cells to a patient with blood cancer, who I don't know, somewhere in the world. You too can register yourself to save a life: NL=matchis.nl/word-stamceldonor, USA=nmdp.org/get-involved/join-t…, and Google for other countries

This has been my last few months: Getting MotherDuck to speak the Postgres protocol! There's still a long road ahead to support all the BI and schema management tools. But I won't rest until \d works! But first some parental leave. motherduck.com/blog/motherdu…

I've been bashing DuckDB and Postgres together for the past three months. It has been very challenging, but also extremely fun. There's sooo much more to do... But it's already extremely fast for some queries. So here's a v0.1.0 release. Try it out and please report any bugs
Postgres analytics 10x faster with just an extension?! Check out our first release of pg_duckdb, an open-source PostgreSQL extension by @hydradatabase & MotherDuck. It's already packed with awesome features! 👀 motherduck.com/blog/pgduckdb…

There's about a 1 in 50000 chance that your genetics match with the patient in such a way that you can be a donor. I signed up ~8 years ago and suddenly heard back a while ago. But that does mean that they need many people to sign up to be able to help all patients.
