I think I have never known how to hate people properly. I’ve tried. I’ve sat with betrayal in my lap. I’ve replayed conversations until they lost all warmth. I’ve listed every reason I should be angry, every reason I should walk away and never look back. Yet somehow, without fail, I always end up remembering the good parts. The way they laughed. The way they once showed up when I needed them. The things they carried that I never fully understood. The wounds that existed long before I arrived. And suddenly, the person who hurt me becomes human again. That is the problem. Or maybe it is the gift. I don’t know. I still haven’t decided. We often talk about seeing the good in others as if it is a virtue or sign of kindness or proof of a soft heart but then, what nobody tells you is that sometimes it can become a form of self-abandonment. Because there is a difference between understanding why someone hurt you and excusing the fact that they did. For years, I confused the two. I thought compassion required me to make room for every explanation. Maybe they were struggling. Maybe they were afraid. Maybe they did not know any better. Maybe they were carrying pain I could not see. And perhaps all of those things were true. But none of them changed what happened. A storm can have a reason for forming but the house is still destroyed. I think that is what people like me struggle to learn. We become archaeologists of other people’s behavior. We dig and dig and dig until we find the broken pieces that explain them. And once we find those pieces, we hesitate to hold them accountable. Because how can you be angry at someone when you understand where their anger came from? How can you blame someone when you can see exactly what made them the way they are? The answer, I've learned, is that understanding someone is not the same thing as owing them access to you. A person can be wounded and still wound you. A person can be hurting and still hurt you. A person can have good intentions and still leave damage behind. Both things can exist at once and that realization felt strangely heartbreaking. I mean, it’s not because it made me see people differently, but because it made me see myself differently. I began to notice how often I extended grace outward while withholding it from myself. How quickly I defended people who disappointed me. How slowly I defended myself when I was disappointed. I could write entire essays about why someone else deserved another chance yet struggle to explain why I deserved peace. Maybe that’s why this question has always followed me: Is it a blessing or a curse to always see the good in people? On my better days, I think it is a blessing. The world already has enough cynicism. Enough suspicion. Enough people eager to believe the worst about one another. There is something beautiful about refusing to let pain make you cruel. There is something beautiful about believing people are more than the worst thing they have done. But on harder days, it feels like a curse. Because seeing the good in people does not erase the bad things they did to you. It does not make betrayal hurt less. It does not make disrespect easier to carry. It does not stop you from bleeding. Sometimes it simply means you remain standing at the scene longer than you should, admiring the flowers while pretending not to notice the fire. Maybe the answer is that it is both. A blessing when it keeps your heart open. A curse when it keeps your boundaries closed. A blessing when it allows you to understand people. A curse when it prevents you from understanding what you deserve. These days, I am trying to learn a different kind of compassion. The kind that does not require me to ignore myself. The kind that can acknowledge someone’s goodness without volunteering for their damage. The kind that can say: Yes, you are hurting. Yes, I understand. Yes, there is still good in you. And no, that does not mean I have to stay. Because sometimes loving people means seeing the light in them, and sometimes loving yourself means realising that light is not yours to carry. Not every lighthouse is a home. Not every good person is good for you. And not every door has to remain open simply because you can still see something beautiful standing on the other side.

DAY 21 OF OPERATION TICS Dear Nigerians, Doctors in Nigeria are burned out from excess workload. And what does that really mean? Working an average of 106 hours per week for physicians, and up to 126 hours per week for surgeons. Being on back-to-back calls, where a doctor works 48 hours nonstop, sometimes 72 hours, and in some extreme situations, over a week without real rest. Many even take continuous back-to-back calls for months non-stop. “You are exhausted… complex cases come in… yet you’re still expected to make critical decisions immediately...” Exhaustion kills. It endangers the doctor… and it endangers the patient. Regulated work hours are not comfort or luxury. They are essential for safe, effective, and humane healthcare. #OperationTICS #StopOverworkingDoctors #SafeWorkHoursSaveLives #SaveTheDoctors #SaveHealthcare

That’s right. If there’s anybody always promoting the brand of @GuinnessNGR that person is @Wizarab10. His demeanour & humble personality + individual excellence speaks of the richness in character often displayed by true traditional African men. Guinness as a brand would benefit so much from having him as their brand ambassador, not only to promote the brand but depict a true sense of masculinity inherent in the traditional African man.
@GuinnessNGR this is pure billboard worthy depiction of black excellence. @Wizarab10 love for Guinness is enough reason to get him onboard as a brand ambassador. I am definitely picking up Guinness as my preferred brand from now.

When you look back on the best decisions you’ve ever made, you didn’t overthink, you simply went ahead with the audacity of ignorance, then when you realized it was too late to back out, you simply rose to the level of your challenges, and you found a way to make it work.

"Leave Your Comfort Zone" I never advise anyone to leave their comfort zone. Don't leave where you have peace of mind because they told you to leave comfort zone. Discomfort dey kill ooo. They tell you what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. What they didn't tell you is that, it can also damage you. I don't weigh stregth by who suffer pass. If you are leaving your comfort zone, please go to a more comfortable zone. There is no glory in being the most stressed. Always weigh the risk, opportunity cost of taking that decision, potential fall outs. Don't just jump into it because motivational speakers asked you to leave your comfort zone. You can leave your comfort zone and zone out completely. Life no send your papa If you can stay with your parents after graduation or employment, stay with them till you have enough money for independence. Don't leave family house to go squat with somebody and be at their mercy when your parents live in same city. That is not growth. You're a mumu. If you are growing in your job and it brings you much peace with good work culture, stay and grow there. If you are leaving, make sure you're leaving for a more comfortable place not leaving comfort zone for stress. More money is not always good money. Some office politics and work culture will fuck with your mental health. You have a good life in Nigeria, you have a good job, good family, you travel with family, you get to see your love ones often, you enjoy the life in Nigeria. But they are telling you to japa because you have to leave your comfort zone. If abroad will make you depressed, please stay where you are. Japa because you want it and it is in your best interest not because you habe to "leave your comfort zone." "Leave your comfort zone" ended Owen, Hazard, Coutinho, Song's career. I can go on. Staying in comfort zone made Xavi, Iniesta, Gerrard, Totti, Messi, Scholes, Maldini, legends. Everybody will not be Ronaldo or Zlatan. Even CR7 might have won more Ballon D'or if he didn't leave Madrid. Some of you habe changed job and regretted because the work culture is toxic. Please don't just leave comfort zone for the sake of leaving comfort zone. Enjoy comfort. Nobody hurts from comfort. If you are leaving comfort zone, move to a more comfortable zone. I know we have to dare the impossible. Please have strong background so that if you knack back for ground, they will pick you up. There is a Yoruba proverb that says “Irorun igi ni irorun eye”. This means that, if the tree is not conducive enough, the bird cannot perch. Don't go and perch where is not conducive. I have said my say. Good luck!
