It’s curriculum and instruction day @BuncombeSchools! Thanks to Curriculum Directors, Ms. Ponder and Dr. Lanahan, for laying a strong C&I foundation with our 50 new teachers. A special shout out to Ms. Ponder for her passion around “using the manual”! #NewHeights

Congratulations to the Buncombe County Schools Early College and Buncombe County Schools Center for Career Innovation Classes of 2026! What a beautiful celebration of remarkable young people whose dedication to their studies was evident in the number of Associate Degrees being awarded simultaneously to their High School Diplomas! Thank you to the faculty and staff of these awesome schools and to all who have supported these graduates along the way! Thank you to our partners at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College for being so integral to these schools and students! #LeadTheClimb

By far the most valuable part was hearing what my colleagues had to say each month. Spending time with other leaders is inspiring! It’s good to know that we all desire to be better leaders and that we can lean on each other throughout the process. #BCSBookstudy

This book study affirmed the incredible impact that I can have on each individual I serve and the organization as a whole. I am challenged daily to see educational leadership as a service, not a job. #BCSBookstudy
Q4) How did "High Road Leadership" by @TheJohnCMaxwell challenge, affirm, or influence your thinking about your role and the impact you have on others? #BCSBookstudy @jMarkCole @TimElmore

As leaders we have the important role of leaving things better than we found them, which can mean equipping those around us to carry on the work into the future. #BCSBookstudy
“Living by the bigger picture is seeing the world as it is, finding opportunities to help others become great, and using your skills, talents, and resources to help as many people as you can in the time that you have.” - @TheJohnCMaxwell Q2) What might this look like in the work you do every day? #BCSBookstudy #LeadTheClimb

Our fuel trucks are prepositioned across the county for law-enforcement and emergency management. We have a high school serving as a shelter and more ready to come online as needed. Our team is ready to step in and help as needed and I could not be more proud of the way my teammates lovingly serve our community. Public schools do the public good. #LeadTheClimb

The Reynolds District is elevating voices through its district advisory council. Families from across the district came together to offer feedback on a variety of topics from the student learning experience to school safety. We are appreciative of opportunities like this to ensure that we are responsive to the needs of students and families. #LeadTheClimb

🎶 What a joy to experience a 6th grade beginning band class at Enka Intermediate in @BuncombeSchools. It’s so exciting to see so many students choosing music at such a young age. #LeadTheClimb #TrombonesRule #Proudtobeajet

On this one year anniversary of Hurricane Helene, it was an honor to join my public school colleagues @UNCADeptEduc to reflect, remember and recalibrate as we launch a new school year. I could not be more proud of the way our public schools serve our communities every day, and especially during this difficult time. #LeadTheClimb
