THIS.
Everyone wants to run hitting sessions and call pitches in year 1.
Crawl - Walk - Run. Not bc you have to โpay your duesโ - but you literally need to learn how to do everything if you want to coach. Running a program or being a full time assistant means you have to be able to wear so many hats. And the super corny, albeit very true โif youโre too big for the small things, youโre too small for the big thingsโ runs true for 99.9% of head coaches (donโt check my math ๐คฃ)
Food for thought: Undergraduate/Graduate managers and young support staff: the "small" tasks, like food runs and post-practice meals pickups aren't just errands. They're opportunities to show you're dependable. Bigger responsibilities start there. #SERVE

"This is the team I'm most proud of making it to the WCWS," Kelly Inouye-Perez on @BigTenNetwork today.
Credits Lisa Fernandez on changing the mindset around the offense that just because you can hit a pitch doesn't mean you should, they've shrunk the zone.
Inouye-Perez has won 9 National Championships for @UCLASoftball as a player, assistant coach and head coach. She said it all comes down to which team can settle in and play their game the fastest.

Delainey Everett just had the quote of the post season, โan underdog is still a DAWG!โ
Everettโs first complete game of her career was handing Oklahomaโs first shutout since 2019.
She did it on her parentโs wedding anniversary in honor of her father who passed away last year. Sports are special.๐ฅน

The gap isnโt talent.
Itโs commitment when you donโt feel like it.
