Ramp data shows VC-backed companies are spending 10x more per employee/month on AI vs. PE-owned and other companies.
A bearish interpretation could be: token spend is being driven by VC-backed companies, making demand vulnerable to swings in capital cycle. Valid!
However, on a longer timeframe, I think this is quite interesting as a leading indicator for the direction of software companies (VC-backed companies are mostly software or service-as-software companies). New companies are being built with a larger ratio of tokens vs. humans.
Look at Anthropic itself, which pays 1/6 as much on intelligence as its customers (since it sells tokens marked up at 85% GM): Anthropic is spending ~9x more on compute than human salaries despite having access to tokens at cost. Cash payroll is annualizing ~$2B for a company with ~$60B of run-rate revenue in 1H26. Anthropic employs just 5k people. Wild efficiency in human capital.
I suspect that the great software companies of the next decade, both new and incumbent, will insert AI into every aspect of their products so that using them feels like magic, and work happens seamlessly. Building a presentation in Claude feels like magic: I tell it what I want to put on a slide, and it appears like magic. As a user of Ramp, their products feel the same way: I make a purchase, take a picture of a receipt, and the expense is logged into my accounting system appropriately without the need for a human to type into a blank box. I think we will see most software become AI-native or be replaced by software that is. This is a significant opportunity for incumbents and startups alike. And I think this is a huge source of future token spend that will go to $AMZN and $GOOG where most software companies are built (on AWS and GCP) and where AMZN and GOOG are building the platforms for software companies to build AI capabilities into their products with choice around compute and model, embedded safety and governance, and unlimited scale.
Amazon CEO @ajassy said on a podcast this week that AI spend is currently a "barbell-shape" with insatiable compute appetite of the AI labs on one side, and corporates using AI for cost savings on the other. In the middle is tokens embedded into "core workloads" which he says is growing but small today, but he thinks in 5 years might be the biggest category of token spend.

$GOOGL Alphabet CBO: Rapid growth in AI Mode queries is diluting search monetization
"It's worth noting that the strong growth in AI mode queries had an impact, because of the lower monetization we were seeing in AI mode. To be clear, we feel very good about our trajectory here. Our ad experiments have shown promising results, and we're now scaling ads within both AI Overviews and AI Mode to more users and more queries. Including, as I mentioned, international markets and multi-turn ads in the US."

My guess is that $GOOGL continues to experiment with ad load and placement in AI Overviews / AI Mode user journeys, optimizing for long-term retention. It's a difficult task. Also, Q3 2025 wasn't an easy comp.

Going to see a lot of people claiming they haven't done a Google Search for a while again.
Very interesting how that's correlated to the stock price.

Israeli opposition leader theoretically has enough seats to oust Netanyahu. The problem is he'd need the support from the Arab parties. And if they join government, then the non-Arab parties will no longer support him.

Re: Banks "blocking" agents from account access. I expect this to be resolved within weeks as META and other agents sign on to existing aggregation agreements that replace screen scraping w. consumer Login/Pass with tokenized access credentials and APIs. Banks want to obtain consumers explicit permission to share their data and monitor data requests as well as a kill switch (at the bank) where they can stop access. This is in place with other aggregators.. so no new tech... its about the agreement, and process for agents to register.

58/ Cash and funding
Money raised: ~$140B in cash from 2023 through H1'26 (preferred stock + convertible notes + SAFEs, per the S-1 cash flow statements). $110B of that came in H1'26 alone, including the $65.2B Series H.
Cash left at 6/30/26: $112.4B cash & equivalents + $19.3B short-term investments = ~$132B (plus $2.5B restricted cash).
Additional capacity: $15B undrawn revolver (expanded Sep'26), and up to $77B of partner note facilities (Google $20B, Amazon $15B tied to compute milestones, Broadcom $42B only to pay lease rent). IPO proceeds come on top.
How that compares (cash & liquid investments at 6/30/26, gross, before debt):
Alphabet: $242B
Anthropic: $132B
Amazon: $123B
Meta: $90B
Microsoft: $77B
Tencent: ~$75B (RMB511B)
Alibaba: ~$70B (RMB475B)
Anthropic is holding more cash than Amazon, Meta or Microsoft. But SpaceXAI alone runs ~$37B a year from Dec'26, against ~$780-810B of total compute commitments.

$META is trading now at 12x its operating cash flow (and close to 10x 2027 ocf). Valuation has dropped despite top-line growth accelerating in the last year.
I continue to believe $META will be one of the biggest winners of the AI era, as it has a unique position that it will be able to leverage, and Muse will turn out to be $META's best asset in the long run.
$META continues to be one of my core positions (yes, I didn't like the equity raise timing, but we are past it now, and the valuation is again very compelling).
