We started "Distance" back in 2020. More than 900 hand-painted frames and a long list of talented collaborators later, it's finally done.
Written by Nate DiMeo and originally published in @thememorypalace , it tells the story of Samuel Finley Breese Morse: his years as a painter, his personal story, and the path that led him to help shape one of the most important inventions in modern communication.
It had its night on the big screen in September where it won "Best Canadian Short" at the Spark Animation 2026 festival @SparkCG. Now it's coming to the tiny ones in your pockets and your desks.
