KOCCA (Korea Creative Content Agency) has finally revealed its final grading for #PerfectCrown stating firmly that the drama received a passing grade on its final evaluation "there were no procedures to recover the subsidies as there were no standards for historical Distortion" (ARTICLE TRANS) "The drama #PerfectCrown, whose lead actors IU and #ByeonWooSeok has passed the evaluation for government-funded production support. According to a comprehensive review of this newspaper's reporting on the 6th, the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) gave MBC's June drama Perfect Crown a passing grade in its production support evaluation. Its passing status remained unchanged as of early this month, and there were no procedures to recover the subsidies, which had been discussed following the controversy. KOCCA was required to complete the evaluation by June. At the time, the results of any related reviews or National Assembly proceedings had not yet been released. KOCCA explained that the production had been completed as planned and was therefore assessed according to the existing standards. It was not a decision based on KOCCA's internal judgment, but rather the result of following the established project evaluation procedures. There were no separate standards for incorporating historical distortion controversies into the evaluation. KOCCA's position is that since this project is intended to support content production, it is difficult to directly impose sanctions on matters concerning a production's distribution or broadcasting. Standards for imposing sanctions on the grounds of controversy still do not exist. In effect, the mechanisms for filtering out such controversies were virtually nonexistent."
