It's another "magic trick" by @elonmusk . We chronicle this trompe l'oeil aspect of his stock-pumping playbook in "Musk," which is now in theaters. It started with a "demo" of battery swap technology which looked spectacular and turned out not to be real.

In NV, DOJ said it found 16K noncitizen voters. When NV asked for a list, DOJ sent 185. NV checked those and found all of them were actually citizens.
In CA, DOJ first said it found 190K noncitizen voters. Now, it says 20K. Told CA officials they had 48 hours to check, then sued
.@USAttyEssayli for @USAO_LosAngeles to @FoxNews on the complaint against California over its voter list: “When we're telling them you have 20,000 non-citizens on the voter rolls, you're going to be diluting the votes of American citizens. Their response is, ‘It's too late; we already mailed the ballots.’ That's not how the law works, and we're going to go to court. This is a matter of law…All we are asking them to do is sequester the ballots.”

Always interesting to imagine what the Biden legacy would have been had he said in January 2023 "we had a pretty good midterm, my work is done here, enjoy the open primary."

The big @RealSeattleNice Seattle City Council District 5 debate is a week from today!
Because this is an off year for municipal elections, the City Council race in District 5 (which covers all of North Seattle including Lake City, Greenwood, Northgate and the Aurora corridor) is not getting the attention it deserves. That's unfortunate, because there's a lot at stake.
Hot button public safety issues around street disorder, public drug use, prostitution, and gun violence, vanishing grocery stores, and (of course) the lack of sidewalks. And there some very real and meaningful differences between the two candidates, Nilu Jenks and Julie Kang.
So please join us Wednesday, October 21 at 6 pm at the National Nordic Museum. Attendance is free, and it's a great venue, so ed'd love to see you in the audience at this live debate podcast taping.
